They perform evaluations, formulate the plan of care for patients referred to Physical Therapy, initiate and carry out their treatments. When starting your therapy it is crucial to know if you are going to a registered facility and there are licensed personnel in the facility. In New York, you do not require a prescription for a physical therapist to administer physical therapy.
Insurance plans have a variety of different requirements and benefit detail, each plan is as unique as its member. Patients are always encouraged to call their plan's member services department or view their benefit detail online to gain a full understanding of their coverage. Knowing what your plan requires prior to treatment is always best.

If treatment beyond 10 treatments or 30 days is needed the patient must secure a prescription for physical therapy from a licensed New York State provider (physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or podiatrist) to continue treatment. Not all insurances will cover physical therapy treatment for patients who self refer.

My daughter came to get Physical Therapy with Jill, as part of her back injury from playing basketball. She was in 7th grade and was on the Girls Modified Basketball team.
She recovered very nicely, and thanks to Jill's intervention and support, was back on the court the week after she ended PT! And, the best news is that she's been playing as part of a travel basketball league this past spring and into June, and her back was completely strong and healthy for every practice and game.SO thankful to Jill for helping my daughter to get back to good health!

I have worked with Kulp Physical Therapy for about 6 months addressing my hip and lower back pain. Doug Kulp was an outstanding Physical Therapist, with great communication and listening skills. His hands on approach in providing therapy, and teaching me how to improve my own function was excellent and provided me a great foundation for my hip replacement. The staff in the office was also very accommodating.

I have been receiving therapy, for various injuries, from Kulp PT for 20 years. They are the best around! As a medical professional myself, my knowledge is taken seriously, and my concerns listened to and addressed.
The therapy techniques used, a mixture of manual and exercises help the most. And you will feel better! If you happen to be having a flare up, they will find a way to fit you in, one way or another!
The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Denise, the office manager is extremely knowledgeable on all insurance issues! Ask her anything!
All therapists will assess you, and tell

Cozy office located in Victor with kind, compassionate and friendly staff. Always on time, very professional with appropriate individualized treatment plans. I require a lot of hands on manual therapy. The only physical therapist that has been able to achieve a proper manual release for fussy over active trigger points. They always find room to squeeze me in if I get in a pinch. I have seen every therapist there at some point. They all have their own unique specialties they bring to the table and provide quality care to patients of all ages. My daughter is also a patient here. She feels very comfortable

Everyone at Kulp Physical Therapy has been wonderful to work with – kind, compassionate and caring. Doug has been helping me recover from surgery and regain full use of my shoulder. He is incredibly knowledgeable and explains everything he’s doing so you know what to expect. My doctor has been very pleased with the progress I’ve made with Doug. Doug’s approach is individualized and personalized. His focus is on your entire well-being; he’s very attentive to how you’re feeling, reacting and progressing, and customizes his therapy to ‘meet you where you are’ and continue to help you

I came to Kulp Physical Therapy in May after seeing an orthopedist for my chronic and worsening neck pain that was impacting my quality of life.
I was skeptical that anything could relieve my pain short of surgery (which I was dreading), injections or heavy painkillers. I found Douglas Kulp to be very personable and engaging with an infectious, positive attitude. He listened intently to my history of neck pain and did an evaluative assessment and reviewed my recent x-rays. Doug pinpointed the specific areas and felt confident that he could to relieve my pain. Between the exercises and his trigger

I have been to a few Physical therapy clinics and this one is by far the best. At other clinics it usually goes like this. Therapist looks at prescription/diagnosis gives you an exercise to do then moves on to another patient. Stops back gives you another exercise etc. Doug and Leah are with you one on one. They explain in detail what is happening with your body and how to fix it. They use manual manipulation techniques on your muscles to loosen then up so that your exercises are easier and more effective. Everyone there is pleasant and helpful. I would never consider going anywhere else again
