A-Karrasel is a Childcare Center that focuses on the development of the whole child. We strive to create warm classrooms where the care and education for each child is of the utmost importance. During the first five years of life, children need constant attention and stimulation to promote their growth.
Here at A-Karrasel, their days are filled with music, books, art projects, sensory and science exploration, math lessons, small and large motor stimulation and social interaction. Our goal is to help each child during these early years by giving them the essentials they need to grow into a questioning knowledgeable, self-confident individual.

Services
The A-Karrasel Child Care Centers have a long history of providing early childhood education within the community. Most of the A-Karrasel centers were established in the middle 1960's - each having their own unique cultural make-up and identity. The first school acquired was in 1979 from Gladys and Henry Bill.
Nutritional needs for your child are met through our well-balanced breakfast or mid-morning snack (depending on your center), hot lunch, and midafternoon snack. Our snacks and meals are prepared on site in our school kitchens. The Department of Children and Family Services and City of Chicago do not permit homemade food brought into a child care center.
Our infant rooms are centered around individualized attention and nurturing through low staff to baby ratios. Your infants sleeping and eating patterns will be observed to create a home-like experience. The daily planned curriculum includes age-appropriate activities aimed at developing sensory, large motor, and fine motor skills.
Help your Big Kid prepare for 1st grade with the A-Karrasel full-day Kindergarten program! Our qualified teachers are familiar with the Chicago Public Schools curriculum, and focus activities around it. Daily work is challenging and engaging. The curriculum includes reading, math, art, science, social studies, printing, journal writing, computer work, and music.
When school is not in session, turn to A-Karrasel to provide a safe and engaging environment for your child. Summer camp is available for students 5-12 years-old. School-aged children will participate in "bridge" learning to keep their skills sharp. Lots of outdoor play, and activities are included.

I decided to give this day care center a try since it was a convinient location, close to home. I called a day ahead of time and the person I spoke to gave me information on rates($200) for part-time a week. The price was ok and she also informed me of day care assistance programs as well.
We agreed I would stop by the next day at the time specified, so I set a reminder on my phone. I already knew because of Covid I would have to wear a mask. On my way there the next day I have the place a call since I noticed the doors locked. The same lady answered the phone, I told her I was here for my appointment

The staff is absolutely wonderful. Great management and great teachers. Everyone welcomes you when you drop off your kid(s) and say goodbye when you pick them up. Everyone is very friendly and nothing but polite. My son was very shy when he first started and now he doesn't want to leave when it's time to go home. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for child care.
