In 1902 Edwin Harvey "Dude" Walker, a pressman at the Times-Herald newspaper in Dallas, Texas moved to Washington, DC and took a job with the Federal Bureau of Engraving and Printing. He spent several years at the Bureau employed in the Division of Issue at the U.S. Treasury. In 1910, Edwin joined the US Government Printing Office and in 1914 he was appointed Foreman of Press Work.
After years of service with the US Government, Mr. Walker decided to go into business for himself, and in 1927 founded E.H. Walker Supply Company in his basement in Washington, DC. The company was originally engaged in the sale of equipment and supplies used in the photo-engraving process. Edwin Walker was succeeded in the business by his sons, Worth and Bernard "Hap" Walker.

I was so happy to find this jewel of a company. Very professional and knowledgeable company of the products they sale. They also deliver in the DMV area for purchases over I believe $99-$150. If you order on the phone be prepared to pay with your credit card over the phone THIS COMPANY CAN BE TRUSTED. The Gem at the front desk sold me a Canon F170 printer I missed the owner this time around but I surely walked away satisfied.

I have been buying all my ink for my 44" Epson from Walker Supply for a couple of years now as well as most of my paper for my graphic design studio-asap graphics. One time when I was teaching a digital illustration class at Montgomery College my students paper had mysteriously gone missing with only a few more days left of printing time before the end of the semester. In a panic I called Walker Supply and my rep (Brian Smith) at brought over a roll so we could continue work!ing!
