Owner & Founder Bill R. Hatley began to notice a rapidly expanding community in Chilton County early in his career. He initially purchased Clanton Health Center Nursing Home in 1978. A few years later, Mr. Hatley purchased the county owned Clanton Health Care South Nursing Home in 1980 and began moving towards his dream.

His dream was to combine both facilities and their staff to create one state of the art facility and to provide the most sophisticated long term care to the surrounding community. Mr. Hatley accomplished his goal upon the completion and occupation of the newly built facility in 1984. Mr. Hatley seized an opportunity in 2005 to expand and add eighty beds to the 121 beds of the original facility.
Services
Our emergency plan includes procedures for communication. Notification of families in the event of an evacuation is part of that plan. We ask that you provide us with current phone numbers and notify us as soon as possible of any changes. If time permits, we will attempt to notify you with a personal call in the event of an emergency.
We always welcome those individuals looking to volunteer their time to the community. We have many activities and events that we would love to have members of the community participate. For information about volunteering at Hatley Health Care, please contact Mechelle Jackson in our Activities Department.

There are some wonderful people who work at Hatley Healthcare that truly care about the residents. As with most long term care facilities, staffing adequately to meet the many diverse needs of the residents is very challenging leaving front line workers to be responsible for too many residents. When staffing is “short” or inadequate, you will learn that management tells staff to “Just try to keep them dry and turned.” I put that in quotation marks because that’s what I was told by the DON and ADON when I worked there. What it meant was skip showers, bed baths, getting residents up out

We were there to visit my mom (who was in the rehab section), and I found it saddening. But then again, I find all such places somewhat depressing. All those people who were once independent, now dependent on others...

My sister in law was a resident there for 3 years, before that her dad was a resident for 6 years. I could not recommend any higher. The staff was always pleasant and took excellent care of them both. Betty Faye Minor, my sister in law passed this morning. Her only wish was to go back to Hatley's. She loved it there and wanted to see her friends, residents and staff were included. I hope Hatley's recognizes their wonderful staff. I would love to call each and everyone of you by name. The list is long and I'm afraid I would leave someone out. They know who they are. Thanks so much for your devoted

Hatley's is short on staff -- they're competing with the local hospital for skilled workers. The ones I've interacted with are friendly and competent, though some of them at the facility should "up their game" when lifting and handling residents.

I called and left messages with their head of admissions and front desk staff after the admissions manager was unresponsive. I asked specific questions and left detailed voicemail messages. No one ever returned my calls about an extremely dire situation. Now my father is recovering at his place of residence ALONE after a serious surgery. They obviously do not care in the least, so I'd be extremely weary of leaving anybody to recover under their care. If you are in need of an effective and caring admissions manager- feel free to contact me. This is not how business should run or how healthcare should

The administration needs a lot of improvement! I would not recommend placing your loved ones there if you can help it. I will not encourage anyone I know to go to work for this private organization. I personally know there are some good nurses who work there, but there organization is not organized at all. In my opinion the priorities need to be revamped by far. There is neglect that goes on in the facility and untrained CNA's doing things they are not trained to do. Watch after your family members closely. And, whatever you do watch your back as a trainee/employee. They do not care about your
