Physical therapists are university trained with doctorates in the field and are experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport and health and fitness. The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual.
TENS: Transcutaneous electrical neuromuscular stimulation (TENS) is a physical therapy modality used to manage acute and chronic pain in physical therapy. Your PT will use TENS to decrease your pain by applying electrodes to your body over painful areas. The intensity of the electricity will be adjusted to block the pain signals traveling from your body to your brain.
Kinesio Tape alleviates discomfort with the utilization of single "I" strips or modifications in the shape of an "X", "Y" or other specialized shapes as well as the direction and amount of stretch placed on the tape at time of application, Kinesio Tape can be applied in hundreds of ways and has the ability to provide brace-like support, re-educate the neuromuscular system, reduce inflammation, prevent injury and promote good circulation and healing, and assist in returning the body to homeostasis.

Dr. Sean Mandell is one of the best physiologists I have ever met. Particularly regarding the mechanics of movement, strength, balance, and joint flexibility. He quickly determines a unique treatment plan for each new patient and his staff carefully monitor progress at a very personal and individual level. His center is clean, organized and peaceful with top of the line equipment. Multiple modes of body work are part of the process to relieve pain and increase mobility. My own treatment plan has become a foundation for my ongoing health. I cannot recommend Oceanside Physical Therapy enough.

Had neck problems was referred here by the VA.Best referral I have ever had. The staff is professional yet warm and caring.
My pain level went from an 8 to a 3 in thirty days and that includes a week off for the holidays.parking is a little tight, but the caring staff more than make up for it. Would I go back, I ask my doctor for an extension, but was denied due to red tape. Since then I have told several other veterans about this place. Hope they keep up the great work.

First off I’m a veteran who has had a lot of injuries over my life and much of it has turned into chronic pain. I was skeptical not much could be done for the pain I live with everyday and I almost didn’t schedule when the VA community care granted me a referral to Oceanside PT. However from the get-go Sean listened to my long history and was very thorough with his examination. I have to say the treatments went above and beyond! When there was time we even worked on my low back which was not included in the original order. My shoulder is basically pain-free now and Sean showed me a great program

Brought my mother in law here for her first physical therapy appointment with Sean today. I was so impressed with their patience and professionalism here. Gentleman at the front desk even addressed her by name as she walked in.
I tend to be a bit nervous when my mother in law is under my care and I definitely was put at ease here.
Sean took his time asking her questions and went through some movements to pinpoint the issue.

Absolutely a great place my daughter has gone there a few times over the past few years. When she had a injury at soccer the orthopedist recommended Oceanside Physical Therapy. My wife recently had ACL knee surgery and Stephen has taken the best care of her got her back to driving and walking can't say enough good things about Stephen

The physical therapist Steven was very helpful with my treatment and explaining everything throughly regarding my condition and with the exercises. Mariana was great with scheduling my appointments and has a wonderful communications skills . All the assistants are friendly, courteous with the best personalities and excellent customer service. Sean Mandell is one of the most intuitive physical therapists I've ever met. I've been in the 'Body Work' 'Holistic World' for 50 years and seldom give my stamp of approval to any one. Yet, he deserves it. He studies, researches 'out of the box' and leaves no stone unturned in assisting individuals in their recovery. Their work area is open, friendly and all the staff are very positive and wellness orientated practitioners. Everyone I've sent there really feels they got way more than they expected. I think YOU will also.

Everyone here is so friendly and professional. I was a little hesitant at first since physical therapy hadn't worked for my shoulder and neck pain in the past but they know what they are doing here, I was feeling less pain within a few visits and no pain by my last. I was very comfortable and I actually looked forward to going every week. They gave me the tools I needed to use at home between visits and to continue to use to stay healthy after I was done. It's been about a year since my last visit and I'm still doing great!

Dr Mandell and his staff provide excellent care throughout my treatment. Very flexible with booking appointments. Staff was attentive to needs during physical exercise and made sure you were performing them correctly. Location has state of the art equipment and very clean. Sean worked with my physician to balance my program against expectations
