Services
The Mulford School is a private preschool and pre-k located on 15 picturesque acres in Centreville, Virginia. Our school offers a safe and secluded setting. The relaxed country atmosphere offers children the opportunity to experience the wonders of nature, including our own farm animals, such as our horses, dogs, and cats.
In 1960, I developed a preschool program for my son that incorporated teaching life skills, with the child's attention span in mind, in an environment that was positive and fun. The end result was the Mulford Method. The basic premise of the Mulford Method is to teach lifetime skills and learning patterns for preschool children using a positive approach where fun and learning become one.
When we started to look for a school for our oldest daughter 3 years ago, we looked at several before we decided to enroll her at Mulford. We loved the building and we were impressed with the educational programming designed by Mrs. Mulford. A teacher myself, the impression of this facility is that it is a top notch, highest quality, a level of educational integrity that I wish existed in every school system.
The Mulford School is the premier preschool in Northern Virginia and has been for over 50 years. There is no other preschool in Northern Virginia that offers what Mulford Preschool offers. Our curriculum is child based, ensuring that each student feels successful during daily activities. Lifetime skills, such as time management and group awareness are incorporated into each activity.
Outside Fitness Activities - The Mulford School is situated on 15 wooded acres in Centreville, VA. Children find adventure and are challenged on their daily trips to the playground. This is a playground like no other - it has many swing-sets, slides, playhouses, a wooden train, sandboxes, a grassy area to play soccer and kickball and a large biking area.

My sister used to ride ther amd she LOVED IT!!!!! Mr and mrs Mulford are so nice and understanding to everyone. They make it fun by not just making it about the riding, and making it about the expeiriance to. Even when i was 5 years old i took a day camp there and it was the funnest time of my life, it included activities such as: drawing, games, riding horses, taking care of the animals, making dirt and worm desert, and so much more!!!!!!! I recently visited the Mulford School and was allowed to observe a class of five year olds taught by the school's director, Mrs. Mulford. I was very favorably impressed. Mrs. Mulford, with some 60 years teaching experience, is a master teacher who held the children's attention throughout the class, which I observed for about an hour. She made learning fun and the children were definitely learning not only fundamental reading skills, but speaking in front of a group, manners, singing and playing musical instruments, and generally showing respect for one another. I think what most impressed me was
