Huddleston-Steele Engineering, Inc., tracks its beginnings to 1955, when Henry Huddleston became a partner in Smith & Huddleston in Murfreesboro. Smith & Huddleston opened its doors at 2115 Northwest Broad Street, offering Murfreesboro its first full service civil engineering firm.

Like engineering, surveying has been a large portion of the services provided by Huddleston-Steele Engineering, Inc., since 1955. Almost all civil engineering projects require land surveying in the planning phase, as well as the construction phase of the project. However, many clients of Huddleston-Steele are not involved in large civil engineering projects.
