Gene The Plumber started working for home owners in Hoboken in the 1980's, when all the housing stock was old. He learned the tricks of adapting new to old, and very old, plumbing. Now most of the buildings have been renovated or built new, so the connections are simpler.

Gene Turonis has been my plumber for the last 25 years - through 3 houses 2 condos 3 completely new bathrooms, a new kitchen, a few water heaters a new oil furnace and a bunch of midnight emergencies. Gene has always been professional, honest, prompt and on time, fair, accurate and knowledgeable (especially of vintage plumbing in old houses.)

1st time customer. We bought a new washer/dryer unit for our condo from Best Buy. Turns out we didn't have the correct venting setup for Best Buy to install the unit, and we were missing an electrical outlet too, so we called Gene to get the installation done. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and they found us a good electrician on top of the plumbing work. They made a really frustrating situation a lot easier on us. We would absolutely use them again for future plumbing work.

I called and described a simple repair asking for an estimate. However the receptionist was extremely rude. She flat out said they don't give estimates on the phone and will charge $150 to make a service call. In other words, they want $150 just to come over and then will give an estimate.
Extremely unprofessional. Every other plumber gave me an estimate. I had a very simple issue and not a multi-thousand repair job. No one wants to pay $150 just to get an estimate for a simple repair.
They will be on my do not call list

We had two appointments with them, both of which they were a no-show for. They didn't even bother to call with a notice. I have no idea where all these positive reviews come from. I suggest you find someone else who will at least actually show up or have the decency to apologize for wasting your time.

Bo came yesterday to fix a leak under my kitchen sink. He was very thorough in determining where the leak was coming from and even found a small secondary leak coming from the faucet. He took it upon himself to contact Koehler on my behalf and has ordered a whole new replacement faucet which is covered under their warranty saving me lot of hassle. He also tied up the faucet hose so it doesn't get in the way of my new glide out shelves!
Only negative is that I had to wait more than a week for the apt but I am happy I waited!

Had a showerhead that's been dripping water for over a year. Finally decided to get a professional to come and take a look. Called Gene-D based on yelp reviews and the service was as expected.
Veronika, who schedules appointments, is extremely pleasant, courteous, and professional. She was able to schedule a visit for 8:30am for the following week.
Francisco came to look at the situation. He worked systematically to diagnose the problem (a leaky valve) rather than jumping to conclusions. He took about 30 minutes to go and buy a replacement valve and replaced it expertly. He took

I'm a contractor from New York trying to help out my son with a kitchen renovation on his new place. Needed a plumber in a pinch to replace two broken water valves right away to continue my work. Gene showed up late in the day to get us secured for the night. Francisco followed with a scheduled water shut down and repair. Being in a multi unit building, this is not an easy process to schedule. Then came a damaged waste line repair that involved accessing the apartment kitchen next door...another coordination nightmare! As a company, they're honest and do excellent work. They're very experienced with quirky old Hoboken houses like my own. I found Gene-D on Yelp based on overwhelming reviews from previous customers. The entire process, from my reaching out via Yelp, Veronica's responses, and Bo and Gene's great work all went very well. I am aware that I am a lay person in this area so my comment might not be right, the pricing of the replaced water heater was somewhat out of the range of a residential situation. However, I appreciated that Bo and Gene took a really close look of the water heater and worked meticulously to reach the result I wanted. Bo also took this opportunity to clean up some of wiring and tubes connected

My hot water heater was leaking so I called Gene "D" Plumber and Veronika scheduled an appointment within a half hour. She got two guys out and they replaced everything the same day. Bo and Jacob explained all my options and gave me a fair price. Very maticulius, clean, courteous, and fast. I've been through a bunch of different plumbers in Hoboken and they were al miserable. It was refreshing to see some people who care about their craft.
