I started my landscape career in 1994 while in high school, and worked for nine years in the industry before starting McDonough Landscaping, Inc. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Horticulture from the University of Minnesota, with an emphasis on Landscape Design and Management.
My decision to work in landscaping was out of my love for the outdoors, but along the way I also found a passion for solving my client's issues with their yard and transforming an existing landscape and creating something special. My free time is spent with my wife, Jennifer, and our daughters, Addison and Grace, with our two dogs in our own backyard landscape.

McDonough Landscaping will only use top quality materials for your patio, walkway and driveway. We had to use another contractor to finish our small project. A very bad experience overall. There are plenty of other contractors in the area that are far more customer focused. If for some reason you go with these people, pay very close attention to what Matt is agreeing too. If / when he underestimates the project it will be on you not him.
What we hoped to be a fun experience enhancing our yard environment ended up being a very negative

We moved into new construction back in 2013 and Matt's advice on how to allocate our budget paid off big time. The landscaping and sidewalk his guys did helped our home get top dollar when we sold last year, but to this day I cannot believe how good the lawn looks. These guys set us up for success and years of compliments.

We are so pleased with our new patio and landscaping! Matt took our lawn and lifestyle needs into account and created a beautiful patio design. The construction team was friendly, professional and hard working. The job was completed in the given time frame, even with rain interference. We highly recommend McDonough Landscaping, and we will definitely use them again for future outdoor projects!

We are so pleased with the work that Andy and his crew did at our house. The crew worked hard, were polite and did quality work. Our job wasn't all that big but they still treated us like an important customer. Not only are we happy with the results but many of the neighbors have also commented on how nice everything looks.

I can't say enough about how happy I am with the work McDonough did for me. My house is brand new and, while the developer did put in a basic landscape package, the backyard was basically sod with a single tree. McDonough prepared designs and did the installation of a beautiful new patio and stairs down to the patio from the existing deck, as well as new trees and landscaped islands. They started when they said they would and finished in good time. Everything was done very professionally and without disruption to my neighbors. We've used McDonough Landscaping 3 or 4 times. Our projects are never that big, but they've done a great job in each thing they've done for us. Their crews are extremely courteous and they do a professional job.
Andy is also an absolute pleasure to work with. He's creative and if you don't have a clear and concise idea of what you want, he comes up with ideas that fit into your budget. Not to also mention he also communicates extremely well so you always know what's going on.
We will for sure be using them again.
