Stem cell research is an emerging field that is clouded in a lot of controversy. A stem cell is a young cell that is not yet specialized. The beauty of stem cells is they can become any tissue in the body. Since stem cells are used by the body to make new tissues, naturally, veterinarians have sought after the ability to harvest stem cells and use them to target their efforts to regenerate damaged tissue.
Lameness is common among all animals. The question you have to ask yourself is, is the animal able to perform the function I need them to perform pain free. For example, can your horse run how you know they can run? Does it break out of the gates fast and straight? Is your dog jumping in the truck like he used to?
Colic is one of the main causes of death in horses. Colic refers to pain in the abdomen. We use this term in horses to refer to any condition that causes abdominal pain. It is analogous to a stomach ache in humans. There are many reasons why one might colic. In any case colic is to be considered and emergency and your animal needs to see a veterinarian for evaluation.

I never go anywhere else for my pet needs. I have been taking my dogs and cat to this vet for over 10 years and I am NEVER disappointed. The staff is amazing and so are the vets and they always treat me like family and treat my pets as if they were their own, not to mention they are very affordable as well. I highly recommend you take your pets to this location if you haven't already.

Dr. Wilkinson always goes out of his way for me and my animals. He is really good at what he does. I took my dog to a nearby vet a few years ago and learned from my mistake after that vet wanted to send me all the way up to A&M. That would have cost me thousands. I chose instead to go to Glen and he knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. The people that work at Wilkinson Vet are really helpful too. TC and Mel are on the ball too. I will never go anywhere else for my pets.
