Ife graduated from the University of Benin, Nigeria with a degree in dental surgery in 2003. She worked for two years as a general dentist in an Army hospital in Nigeria, where she specialized in pediatrics, orthodontics, restoration, oral surgery, and periodontics. During this time, she discovered her passion for working with children.
If you are the parent of an infant or toddler, the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend that the first dental visit be scheduled shortly after your child reaches 6 months of age, or when the first tooth appears. The first dental visit can be a bit anxiety-inducing for both children and parents, but no worries - our staff is fully equipped and trained to keep your child happy and calm.

Minor injuries to the mouth, face, and teeth are common in children, especially if they are active or involved in sports. The key to minimizing permanent damage to teeth and gums is to remain calm and act quickly. If your child has hit his/her head and lost consciousness-even for a brief moment-take them to the emergency room immediately.

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experiences here. I have taken both of my children, my son being autistic, and each time they were efficient, fast, kind, and patient with my children. I've taken my kid's before and after covid and though the intake is different now, they were still quick with getting us in and out. And I can APPRECIATE them taking extra precautions of limiting how many people are in the building to cut down the spread of germs, especially since they deal with the mouth where the spread of covid begins. My 5 year old was terrified but they pulled 2 teeth and she

I brought my two daughters here as a recommendation and I'm so pleased to find a true kids dentist. I have one daughter 7 years old and has extreme anxiety, so bad no dentist has ever been able to get xrays. The staff here truly knows how to handle these types of children. They are patient, kind, encouraging, gentle, supportive, and inclusive of both the child and parents. Thank you for treating my Savannah and Gabrielle!

The front desk receptionist is rude and does not follow through with scheduling appointments. I had a referral from the family dentistry across the parking lot and made an appointment for this office the same day over a month in advance for the next available appointment, only for the day to finally get here and for her to argue with me that I did not have an appointment and did not call to make one. Get a new/nicer/ organized receptionist. I will NEVER bring my child back here. It's unfortunate that Southfield Family Dentistry can only refer this pediatric office.

The Receptionist was very very rude and not professional at all. I came 15 minutes before my appointment to fill up the form as they asked, then I was waiting more than half hour just to get the form, after I completed the form the receptionist ignored me for one hour and when I decided to leave she told me “it’s up to you!!!!” I’m not gonna refer this dentist to anybody.

Warning! Do not take your children here! I made the worst mistake by not taking my children to their previous pediatric dentist because they couldn’t get my children in and took them here. Why did I do that? Due to COVID I get it we had to call from the car before going in but we waited almost an hour before we were called in. Then we were taken back to a room where I had to stand up with my daughter while my son was being serviced. Not once did the dental assistant offer a chair. When I asked for one she went to go get it and came back with no chair! And no explanation! Then everybody walked
