I graduated from Michigan State University Veterinary School in 1987. I spent the first ten years of my career in the Detroit suburbs before moving here and buying the Bay Veterinary Clinic in 1997. My husband Randy and I are so grateful to have been embraced by this community. We are thankful to have had the opportunity to raise our children, Matt and Sarah, here.

We care about your pet and understand how stressful life is when there is an emergency situation. We are not an urgent care/emergency care hospital. Due to only having one veterinarian at the clinic every day, we are unable to take on those cases along with giving our patients, who have scheduled appointments, the time and attention they need and deserve.

Critical: Professionalism, Reliability, Responsiveness
After reading the bad post in the reviews ,. I decided to call anyway. I have a lovebird that needs her beak trimmed but they refused to do it and told me I could probably take her to Marquette 70 miles away.. Non caring non professional. We don't need vets like this in our community

After being assured that the vet had knowledge and experience with the species I brought my recently acquired rescue parrot in for a checkup and to get his nails trimmed and leg band removed but when we seen the vet she refused to trim his nails stating that they look fine which is not the case then she refused to remove the leg band unless she could schedule it as a surgery and sedate the bird which I was not willing to do then after spending most of the appointment trying to sell me the brand of parrot food that she offers she insisted on trimming his beak which at this point I was reluctant

Terrible terrible terrible. I had what should have been a simple issue with my dog and it turned into a lot of wasted time and gas. Money was not the issue, but after speaking to several employees I could tell they cared less about my furry family member than about making $$$. There was also huge miscommunication between staff members that caused me a lot of frustration. As other reviews mentioned I could deal with the rudeness if they would at least TREAT MY DOG! I failed to check the reviews on Yelp before trusting this clinic....my bad. I could write a book on the back story to my visit

I was treating fairly by Bay Vet, no problems. Main point is my Lab gets well taken care of and I'm less concerned about the "crabby lady" behind the counter. Oh well, get over it.
I'll bring my dog back again.
I used Kathy Lane until I couldn't anymore, she was a wonderful vet and had very fair prices. That is one thing I noted different when I received my bill from Bay Vet, it was almost twice as much. But that's my choice now.

Big woman behind the counter was very rude and unhelpful. I was traveling across the country and my sweet pit/boxer mix developed an ear infection.She is my baby and I was rather distraught that she was obviously in pain. I stopped in here and there were two younger woman who told me they were booked, at least they were polite. But the older woman was totally rude, walked away when I was talking to her and ignored the two young women when they asked her about another vet I might be able to see in town. I wouldn't have left a review about them at all and just been on my way but as I was leaving
