Welcome to our skilled nursing facility in Stow, Ohio, just a short drive north of Akron and very close to Canton, Ohio. At The Briarwood Healthcare Community, we are devoted to caring for each resident in the best possible way. Our care team is here to help each resident recover to the extent possible and to enable our residents to live the most normal life possible after illness, surgery or an accident.
The Briarwood Healthcare Community is a skilled nursing facility located in Stow, Ohio with an assisted living unit. We offer different restorative, skilled nursing and rehabilitative services - including assisted living, short term care and long term care - all in one facility. We have health care services that help many different levels of needs.

Any rehabilitation program must be focused on improving recovery. Our pulmonary rehabilitation program is designed from the ground up to reduce recurring hospitalizations as much as possible. We provide high level care for pulmonary rehab candidates in a skilled nursing facility for a better long-term outcome.

Met with the administrator. Didn't get any answers, just excuses! They make the residents stay in bed all day! My mom wants to get up but because the nurses don't care they won't get her up. On the other hand, Kim at the front desk is nice and very helpful. Too bad the nurses and administrator aren't! And the head nurse lies!!

Cindy Shaffer- I can't say enough good about the Briarwood. I will cherish the time I worked there. The Management team was beyond superior. The team at Briarwood really cares for the residents and exceeded my expectations. I was truly blessed to work with the loving and caring employees there. The facility is clean and tidy. I will truly miss everyone there. I wish there were more than 5 stars to give to the Briarwood!

The worst thing you can do is send a loved one to this place. Management cares about no one but themselves. A resident can be dying & they’ll pack up & go home for the day. There’s roaches crawling through the building. Neglect!!! May god have mercy on the people running this facility. It baffles me how someone can leave the elderly in such horrible conditions & sleep peacefully. It’s a shame.

Rooms are dirty. Food in carpets. Bugs & even saw a mouse. Only rooms that are somewhat taken care of are the ones for the residents with frequent visitors. Favoritism/race are a big part of who gets paid what. Building is old with faulty call light system so your loved one could be sitting there for a while before they actually get help. I would definitely NOT recommend.

My 96 year old mother spent the last nine days of her life in the skilled care unit of The Briarwood. What a positive experience despite the circumstances. It is evident that the employees love their jobs. I was always greeted in the hallways by every single person I passed. They coordinated her care with hospice and showed genuine concern for my needs as well. I couldn’t have chosen a better facility for my mother to spend her last days. I am VERY grateful!
