Nena Watkins, Lac, received her Bachelor degree in chemistry from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. She then moved to Seattle, Washington and got her Master degree in Acupuncture from Bastyr University. She enjoyed a practice there for several years before moving home to Dallas. Today, Nena practices in the Bishop Art neighborhood of Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas.
Nena's education in chemistry led her interests away from pharmaceutical products and towards natural herbal medicine. She loved learning Chinese Herbs as part of her training in Chinese medicine and continued to study for years as an apprentice in an herbal dispensary to deepen her knowledge. Practicing at her clinic, Oak Cliff Acupuncture, Nena Watkins, Lac, offers Chinese medicine to balance each individual.

I have visited Oak Cliff Acupuncture twice now for a frayed nerve in my shoulder. I injured it back in July and after countless doctors, chiropractor visits, use my theragun, and so much more, I was still experiencing consistent pain, tightness, etc. The works.
After my first visit, I started feeling SO much better. Nena REALLY knows the science behind this medicine, the culture and history behind it as well, and will walk you through it with such patience. She did not lift this as some trend of alternative medicine - she truly has learned, practiced, and has deep respect for acupuncture.

It was my first time experiencing acupuncture. And I noticed a difference after my first time doing it. I have lower back pain issues and after being in bed for 1 week plus and many adjustments from chiropractors I decided I had to try something different. Nena is amazing she tells you what you need and if you follow through you will notice the improvement.

Extremely rude services I highly do not recommend this place. my mother does not speak English I politely asked the owner if she could explain the process so I could translate to my mother. The owner was extremely rude and said we have a translator coming in by the weekend. This was unnecessary came off racist in my opinion. I will never be returning.

Nena is fantastic! She thoroughly explains the acupuncture process, history and the acupuncture point benefits/connections to your body's meridians. Most importantly she walks you through your appointments in a very comfortable and relaxing environment while truly listening to your concerns, goals and questions.

Nena Watkins is an excellent health professional. After a visit to the hospital and the incredible costs with no diagnosis or relief, I found Oak Cliff Acupuncture. My pain was debilitating as I could not stand up well due to the headache and pain in my upper neck. Here, after 3 treatments and Nena's skill I found healing. While I do not want to go back because of chronic pain, I know that as and if it returns exactly who to go to to relieve pain. I highly recommend.

I always feel so much better after a session with Nena. For example, a few weeks ago I had terrible jaw pain for several days and after one session with Nena it was gone.
She has a wonderful, calm demeanor and is very approachable even for those with limited previous exposure to acupuncture and Chinese medicine like myself.

Nena knows her stuff. I have been going to her for a year and a half. She will also tell you if she can't help, but that's rare.
For example, I was there today. My left foot was hurting. I hit it hard against something while on vacation. It got better, then worse again. it affected my daily life, not allowing me to do everything I want to. After the treatment, it felt so much better.

I've been going to Nina for a year now and she's my go-to if I'm under the weather or have an injury from working out. She's worked wonders on my sinus and allergy issues! If I have a sinus headache i know I can count on improvement in an hour that is lasting. She's very patient in finding the root cause of pain and provides education on Chinese medicine. I like that she gives the background from Chinese medicine on everything she is going to do. She's very flexible with appointment times.
