Five Star Compounding Pharmacy is a family-owned business in Clive, Iowa, a suburb of Des Moines. As a compounding-only pharmacy serving both human and veterinary patients since 2002, we provide compounded medications of the highest quality with superb relationship-based service. We serve customers in Iowa in addition to providing medications to health care clinicians and patients in other states.
Five Star's philosophy is simple. We will do whatever it takes to ensure the customer is satisfied - with our service and the quality of our medications. The relationship between the pharmacist, patient, and health care clinician is very important. Respecting this "triad" relationship enhances problem-solving and maximizes patient outcomes.

Rick Pauley, pharmacist and owner of Five Star Compounding Pharmacy, has extensive experience developing compounded pharmaceuticals for people and animals. A native Iowan who grew up on a farm in the northwestern part of the state, Rick takes pride in his ability to research and find solutions to the medication challenges experienced by his customers - both patients and their health care clinicians.
Compounded prescriptions are customized medications created to meet a patient's specific needs. Unlike commercially available medications, compounded medications can be made in any dosage strength and form, including injectables, capsules, liquids, creams, and flavored lozenges or lollipops. At Five Star, we do not simply pull prescription medications off the shelf - we individually compound them for each patient.
