NOTE TO PARENTS: In the case of bad weather, we will close when Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) are closed. We do not want our students and staff members on the roads during dangerous weather. Please check to see if FCPS are closed on any bad weather day. If they are closed, we are also closed. If FCPS close early, we will close early using the same schedule. Services
At Kell Academy, we support the unique and individual development of each student and facilitate our students' thoughtful and productive interaction with others as they construct their knowledge and understanding of the world around them. It is a privately owned, non-profit organization that provides a quality, early childhood educational program for the Lexington and surrounding community.
Kell Academy is open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended care available from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. for an additional fee. We also offer a Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) calendar for families who wish not to be charged on dates that FCPS are not in session. If you choose this option, your child will not be able to attend Kell Academy on days that FCPS are closed.

Located inside Woodland Christian Church (530 East High Street, Lex., KY 40502), this small preschool is licensed by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services to educate up to 22 students aged 2 to 6 years.

Kell Academy has recently opened in Lexington and it's everything you could possibly want in a preschool, and more! They have a very creative curriculum grounded in best practices in early childhood development and I love the integration of nature and arts in the academic goals they've set. The location can't be beat, the staff is great with kids and very knowledgeable and the facility is amazing! If you have a preschooler and are looking for early childhood education opportunities, put this one at the top of your list!

Kell Academy is precisely what Lexington KY has needed for years. Lynn and her staff provide an excellent foundation for your child through a variety of educational modalities. Your child will receive exposure to the arts and nature in addition to traditional areas of education. Children receive individual attention and develop critical social skills in a group setting. The campus is well appointed and has everything necessary for your child's education and growth. You will take pride in saying that your child attends Kell Academy.

This pre school is amazing . I have the highest regard for the staff . The curriculum is fantastic and the staff are very knowledgeable, kind, and wonderful with kids. They have diverse classes for pre schoolers that you don’t find in any other pre school. The facilities are beautiful, clean with an amazing location across from Woodland Park. If you live near UK or in Chevy Chase and are looking for a quality education for your pre schooler you should definitely check out Kell Academy!
