Abigail started Abigail Joyce Photography in 2012 and continues to remain the lead photographer. With hundreds of newborns and even more families seen each year, Abigail brings a superior level of knowledge, experience, and technique to her clients. Rachel joined Abigail Joyce Photography in early 2021 as one of our first full-time employees, based in South Carolina.
I love all the snuggles with newborns, all the baby giggles, I love seeing families in love, and having fun during their sessions! I may be born here in the midwest but I am inspired by the west coast, yet love the charm of the east coasts. My husband's name is Ben. We were married in 2015, and have been business partners from day one.
Part of being a newborn photographer includes best practices for the health of not just big and little clients, but also your photographer. In every season this practice is prioritized, whether we're fighting the transmission of common colds, flues, or new viruses being discovered.
Many of the things already in place since the start of Abigail Joyce Photography, and which are even more important during times of contagious transmissions, include deep sanitation of fabrics, props, and the studio space.Along with this, I monitor my health, my exposure to any possible sicknesses, and will immediately offer to reschedule if I sense that my health has been compromised in any way.

You, or someone you designate, will contact me within those first 2 days after your baby is born. We'll schedule your session at this point. Newborn sessions are scheduled for a date within the 2 weeks after your baby is born. Review the prep guide and outfit suggestions sent to you for a smooth and successful session.
Every newborn sessions starts with a scene. This is the complete look produced by what I photograph against. This can be an organic wool flokati rug from Greece, a solid color blanket with or without textures, or a reclaimed hardwood stage crafted from the original building timbers of 1920's Chicago architecture.

We've been a little behind on some of the major things we should have prepared for in advance for our baby Myra. At about 7 weeks we realized we needed professional photos of her as a newborn. I was looking for someone who not only had an aesthetic that I liked, but also a studio where we could bring our baby because I didn't want to bother cleaning our house or doing any "set design" at home. Abigail's studio was easy to get to and had a ton of natural light. I did everything I could to make sure my baby was sleepy or tired when I arrived, but she definitely woke up. Abigail was great as soothing

Abbey became our family photographer in August 2018 with our firstborn, and the pictures haven’t stopped since! We just had our second babe, and I just signed up for 3 more sessions for the year. Abbey is an AMAZING photographer and a true newborn-baby whisperer! The photos she takes are truly beautiful. We have had wonderful experiences with Abigail Joyce Photography! We used her for two of our newborn/family sessions. She is super talented and is very patient with working with the babies! She was also very patient with getting our toddler to smile for the family pictures! When we saw the final photos, I was nearly in tears of joy because they turned out so beautifully! Nearly three years ago Abigail did the newborn photos for our twins. She was so kind, gentle, patient and easy to work with that we recently had her do newborn photos for our son. Again, her work did not disappoint. We just love the shots she got and we are always getting compliments on how creative the scenes and poses are! We would highly recommend Abigail to anyone looking for a great newborn photography experience.

I strongly recommend Abby! She's very professional and friendly to work with. She offers many different locations covering Chicago and suburbs. My photos were taken in Morton Arboretum, it's absolutely beautiful. Abby has 3 spots to pick and the photos turns out to be great. She's very good at capturing the moment and utilizing color and sunshine to create an image. And the cost is super reasonable.

We used Abigail as our photographer for our newborn photos and family photos when my son was 6 days old. Infants can be totally unpredictable, but Abigail handled him like a seasoned pro! She kept him calm and happy during the session and knew exactly when to give him breaks as needed. The photos came out amazing and beautiful, she captured every little detail of these precious early moments. The family photos were gorgeous as well, she knew exactly how to set us up for poses that don’t feel phony or unnatural. I would use Abigail again any time for family photos or future newborn photos!

Abigail is amazing!! She braved the cold weather for us so we could have incredible outdoor maternity shots, and allowed us several opportunities to warm up ourselves. I am so impressed with the quality of her work, and her professionalism. She is very easy to get along with, and directs you to make sure you get the perfect photo. I normally don't like getting professional photos taken, but Abigail made the experience awesome and the end result was fantastic. The photos came back to us in a very timely manner, even with the Thanksgiving holiday. I would recommend her to anyone.

Abigail was great to work with! She was gentle with our sweet boy and accommodating to our newborns schedule. (A schedule that had us running late and a feeding needed before and after our session in her studio.) We got our pictures back very promptly and they are beautiful! We had Abigail do both our maternity and newborn photos and both experiences were wonderful! Abigail is such a sweet person and was so incredibly easy to work with. She was very flexible with last minute scheduling for our maternity session and again when we had to reschedule due to rain. She is quick to respond with answering questions and not to mention, the turnaround time for both sessions was much quicker than expected.
