A large number of people have an inclination to completely overlook hardwood flooring because it is more expensive than carpet, however, wood floors have many great benefits which outweigh their initial additional cost. Prior to start shopping for wood flooring, there is some public knowledge we like to share with you that may help you to choose the right wood flooring.
When it comes to your business or home, installing the ideal wood floor is a task that leaves no room for errors. There are as numerous ways to install flooring as there are flooring and installers. However, in our almost 30 years of business, we have adopted a process that is endorsed by the National Wood Flooring Association as standard.
Sanding and refinishing of solid hardwood floors has come a long way in the past years. Our sanding equipment has become virtually dustless, stains and finishes are low V.O.C, and curing times have shortened. Once stripped, we trowel fill the floor to remedy any separation of planks, little nicks and cracks in the wood.
Solid, as well as engineered hardwood floors, are usually finished with one or more coats of oil, or water-based polyurethane for protection. Although very strong and durable, these coatings can oxidize, wear and deteriorate over time. In any case, we are here to help. When we buff and re-coat your hardwood floors, we abrade the top layer of the clear coat and remove any build-up and residue to assure perfect adhesion of the "new" coat.

I don't live in NY anymore but John was happy to take my call regarding my flooring situation. He looked at photos of my floors and offered an unbiased, professional opinion, plus advice as to how to resolve it. I'm seriously considering flying him and his team out to Switzerland to do the job themselves!

Simply put NYC Floors Pro is the best! I recently hired them to refinish my wood floors at my new apartment and they did an amazing job. Actually, not only was the work itself great, but they were incredibly patient and flexible, from shifting job dates at the last minute to allowing me to swap out the wood stain while they were in the middle of sanding! My floor had got water damage and needed the whole floor replaced. I had looked into a bunch of different companies before meeting with John. He explained everything and gave me a breakdown of everything and answered all my questions. He responds very quickly over email on every step of the way, I was told it would take 2-3 days which was fine but the entire job was finishing in 1 day super fast. The job came out absolutely beautiful and looks like a dance floor hahaha. I would absolutely without a doubt call him if I ever needed anything else. From the first quote to the finished floor, these guys are as good as it gets! They have specialized crews for leveling and installation, sanding and finishing and each of them are at the top of their game. Attentive and quick to react to any unforeseen problem. I would highly recommend John and NY Floor Pro. I had some water-damaged floors in my apartment, so I needed the damaged section replaced and the rest of the floors sanded and stained to match. John knew exactly what materials were needed, and was very flexible with timing (which changed a lot on my end due to other contractors' mistakes). The job was estimated to take 2-3 days but was done in a day and a half. Everything looks perfect. Easily the smoothest experience I've had with a contractor in the city. Five stars.

Terrific job by John and the team at NYC Floor Pro. Incredibly responsive - I first inquired about new floors on October 28th and they were installed by December 1st, despite needing coop board approval. The quality of materials and workmanship was excellent, and the work itself was completed more quickly than expected (2 days for the entire apartment) and on the original budget.

OMG!!! WOW! If your floors are in need of repair and you don't hire NYC Floor Pro, you're a real idiot! These guys are as efficient as they come! The hardwood floors in my apartment were warped and ruined last summer, due to a leak from my AC. I contacted John and he immediately came out and gave me an honest estimate. He had excellent communication throughout the entire process and didn't leave any of my questions unanswered. They quoted us a price that was lower than all the competitors, were the most responsive of all the contractors, and got the job done in 3 days flat, whereas everyone else said it would take over a week. Finally found honest and reliable flooring company. I’ve been dying to change my floors for years and finally made my decision to go with them. I contacted few vendors but was rejected due to the amount of labor that was needed for the job. Few companies agreed to do the work but were quoting me in unreasonable price . I contracted NYC Floor Pro to install a new hardwood floor in my Manhattan one bedroom apartment. The job involved the removal of an existing floor, installation of sound proofing barrier, installation of a new plywood sub-floor and the installation of a new solid hardwood flooring.

NYC Floor Pro refinished all the wood floors in my home last month and did a fabulous job! The crew was very professional and trustworthy. They accommodated my schedule, showed up on time and cleaned up so well after the job was done. I was surprised to see just how little dust was left after they cleaned up and left virtually no chemical smell. My floors look brand new and blend so nicely! I have gotten so many compliments on them! I would definitely recommend NYC Floor Pro for anyone looking to refinish their wood floors. Plus, their prices were very reasonable!
