EcoStar LLC is the leading manufacturer of sustainable, environmentally friendly steep-slope roofing products. EcoStar was established to meet the need for a recycled synthetic alternative to natural slate roofing. That need led to the manufacture of our first line of synthetic product - Majestic Slate.
For more than 20 years, we have been dedicated to protecting precious natural resources by offering our discerning customers products made with recycled plastic and rubber. The visionary glimpse of what EcoStar is today began in the early 1970s with the development of the formulation for Starloy (Staroba Alloy).

Absolutely a pleasure working with Ecostar’s majestic slate. It’s a great product that I’ve used on several projects over the years. They have great color retention and I’ve had zero warping or curling. I also like the fact they are solid tiles, that to me is a plus when you’re installing in valleys or gable rakes simply because they do not have the voids on cut edges like tiles that have a honey comb structure. Love the product, great look.

Nice looking product. I personally don't trust synthetic roofing products because I've seen so many fail, curl, discolor, crack and generally go to heck.
Yet this one seems to be doing well.
Cemwood, New American Cemwood, Cal Shake, Hardie Shake, and some short lived rubberish shakes have come and gone. EcoStar is still here so I'm starting to consider it. Caution is best when dealing with pretty expensive roof systems.
