The mission of the Downtown Orange Preschool is to create a Christian faith based program which will provide your child with a strong biblical foundation leading to loving and honoring the teachings of Jesus Christ. We seek to establish an environment where each child feels valued and respected and young minds are nourished with dynamic academic, physical, social and emotional development essential for life-long achievement.
We strive to partner with parents and encourage them to become actively involved in our students educational journey. Our developmental, play based curriculum is woven with academic learning opportunities allowing children to learn and explore God's world in a "hands on" environment and at their own pace.

Services
My Name is Cheri Payne and I am blessed to serve our children, families and staff here at Downtown Orange Preschool as the Director. My Early Childhood Education career began in the year 2000. I have had the pleasure of working in the classroom with all ages of children as well as in Administration.
The administration and staff at Downtown Orange Preschool have been professional, flexible, and caring. Our little one loves going to school. We are so glad she is in good hands. Both our boys (3yrs and 5yrs) attend Downtown Orange Preschool program and we couldn't be any happier with the teachers, school and volunteers.
We currently have 6 staff persons here at the preschool. All of the staff meet and exceed the early childhood educational units requirements by the Department of Social Services. Two Administrators (and fully qualified preschool teachers). All of our staff have achieved, at minimum their undergraduate degree or are currently in the process of completing their degree.
It is no secret that most kids (and kids at heart) love trains. Our Downtown Orange Preschool students spend a lot of time playing with trains, and some of our older students have gone on a neighborhood walk to the train station to watch and listen as the trains pull in and out. We are going to be making that trip again soon and, to make it even more fun, stop by Ruby's Diner for an ice cream treat while we are there.

I enjoy worship and the activities that are available (pre-Covid). They have provided many opportunities during this time to continue our walk with Christ with community and learning opportunities. Zoom bible studies, daily messages from the pastor and church members, creative outreach opportunities and a thriving preschool open to the community.
