Zastrow Funeral Home
Swedberg Funeral Home, Swedberg-Zastrow Funeral Home, and Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home and Crematory, which are locally owned and operated, have created this web site to help our friends and their families in making decisions and researching information. We value the families that we serve and are constantly striving to improve our services.

Any suggestions that you may have to help us provide the service, professionalism and personal attention are humbly welcomed. Our staff is dedicated to service, whether during prearrangement conferences or at the time of need. Your needs and the wishes of your family will be the priority for the services you select.
Services
In 1931, Karl Schweers established the Schweers Funeral Home. Mr. Schweers owned and operated the funeral home until his death in 1958. At that time the Carl Born family purchased the funeral home and it became known as Born Funeral Home. Ten years later Carl, and his wife Janet, purchased the former Gaffney Funeral Home of Gresham, in order to expand their service area.
Just as each person and family is unique, so is each funeral or memorial service. We believe that a visitation and funeral or memorial service should be about the person whose life has ended, and meaningful to those who remain. Families and friends have the opportunity to come together to share a sense of loss, to offer support, and to remember and acknowledge the life of someone they loved.
To provide the public with information about funerals, including prices, and about the functions, services and responsibilities of funeral directors. To afford a continuing opportunity to all persons to discuss or arrange funerals in advance.

To make funerals available in as wide a range of price categories as necessary to meet the needs of all segments of the community, and affirmatively to extend to everyone the right of inspecting and freely considering all of them.To quote conspicuously in writing the charges for every funeral offered and to identify clearly the services, facilities, equipment and merchandise included in such quotations.
Someone you love has died. You are now faced with the difficult, but important, need to mourn. Mourning is the open expression of your thoughts and feelings regarding the death and the person who died. It is an essential part of healing. The following articles provide many practical suggestions to help you move toward healing in your unique grief journey.
Most of us are not prepared to plan and carry out a funeral ceremony for someone we love. And so much of the information available on this critically important subject fails to focus on what is most important: having a personalized, meaningful funeral that helps families and friends begin the healing process of mourning after the death of someone we love.
