Welcome to Steen Funeral Homes, with facilities in Greenfield, Fontanelle and Massena, Iowa. My wife Lisa and I became the owners of the Steen Funeral Home in August of 2000. We are dedicated to carrying on the same level of professionalism established by previous owners. I have been a licensed funeral director since 1991 and am a member of both the National Funeral Directors Association and the Iowa Funeral Directors Association.

Services
We provide many different services and ways to memorialize your loved one. How you choose to do that is entirely up to you. With our assistance, you can create a service that will honor and celebrate the life of the one who has passed away, as well as bring comfort to family and friends left behind.
Planning a funeral in advance is a great way to alleviate the burden left to family members when a loved one has passed away. Depending on your level of comfort, part or all of the services may be discussed, planned and documented for future use when the need arises.

When the time is right, we will help you and your family design and create a monument to memorialize your loved one. There are many choices now in monument size, color, finish and artwork. By showing you examples and guiding you through the process, you can be assured the choice you make will leave a lasting impression for generations to come.
Pastor Steven Broers will officiate the service. The Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle is in charge of the professional arrangements. Memorials: Memorials may be directed to Howard Funke memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date.
Survivors: He is survived by his two sons, Duane Funke and wife Lisa of Anita and Pat Funke of Dexter, Iowa; three grandchildren, Montgomery Funke, Harley (Austin) Hetherin and Brooklyn Funke; three great grandchildren, Ashton, Able and Roman Hetherin; two sisters, Sherry Ruggles and husband Jim of Boone, Iowa and Cindy Wambold and husband Terry of Oklahoma; two step sons, Travis Arterburn and wife Lisa of Fontanelle and Justin Arterburn and wife Amanda of Ankeny, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
