Our firm name, WhiteStone, is drawn from a large stone obelisk built off the Isle of Portland, England in 1844 to warn sailors of dangerous reefs they could not spot from sea. Our practice was created with a similar vision in mind. Services
We view wealth management differently than many others. We do not believe that the traditional method of asking a prospective client 8 to 10 questions about risk preferences and their age, and then using that data to allocate their portfolio, is a viable strategy. We believe that assets should be managed according to when they will be spent, with close attention being paid to risk-taking.
Many of our clients own real estate investment property as part of their overall financial portfolios and we have helped many of these clients use the 1031 exchange to sell a property and reinvest in another like-kind property. That tax advantages of 1031 exchanges are well-known and that is why this approach to real estate investing remains so popular.
