Associates in Psychology & Therapy (APT) is a private psychology and counseling practice that has been providing professional and confidential services to Huntington, WV and the Tri-State for over 30 years.

APT contracts with Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselors, and Licensed Social Workers to offer a variety of psychological and counseling services including psychological assessment, consultation, therapy, counseling and pre-employment screenings.APT Associates work closely with physicians to provide comprehensive health care to clients.

Associates in Psychology and Therapy (APT) is a private psychology and counseling practice that has been providing professional and confidential services for 25 years. APT has available both Licensed Psychologists and Licensed Professional Counselors who offer a variety of psychological and counseling services including, but not limited to, psychological assessment, consultation, therapy and counseling and pre-employment screenings.
Adult psychotherapy helps individuals explore and improve their emotional, behavioral, and relationship functioning. Psychologists and Counselors employ a number of techniques when working with adult clients. Therapy and counseling can help identify and cope with feelings, manage emotions, improve social skills, improve attention and concentration, and learn better, more effective communication skills.
Autism is a brain development disorder characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior. APT provides comprehensive psychological evaluations to determine if a diagnosis of autism is appropriate, how a person's functioning is impaired by autism and to provide recommendations for treatment.
Educational Assessments consist of academic testing only. Results of testing reveal strengths and weaknesses in specific areas (clusters) of academic achievement including reading comprehension, written expression, oral listening and mathematics. The completed report offers test scores and interpretation of scores only.
A Title XIX Waiver is a federal program that offers benefits to individuals who have a severe Intellectual Disability (formerly known as Mental Retardation) or severee Related Condition. To qualify, an individual must have an Intellectual Disability or a Related Condition taht occured prior to the age of 22 and accompanying significant delays similar to those of a person in an institution.
