Services
I'm a wedding photographer based in Charlotte, North Carolina who regularly travels to weddings all across the United States and international destinations. I started with wedding photography back in 2008. Sabrina and I live just outside of uptown near the NoDa Arts District and Plaza Midwood. My pursuit of the arts began at an early age with many creative endeavors, most notably, drums, guitar, and a fascination with cameras.
I live in Charlotte, North Carolina. Most of the weddings I photograph are in North Carolina and South Carolina, but I'm available for weddings throughout the South, country, and internationally. In 2020, I switched to Sony professional cameras, with a selection of Sony prime lenses and absolutely love them.
Thank you for visiting! I'd love to hear from you and discuss how I might be able to photograph your wedding day or event. Wedding Dates are typically reserved 6-18 months prior to the date, but please reach out at your earliest convenience as I only take a limited number of wedding each year. A contract and retainer must be paid to hold the date.
I think most wedding photographers would agree that Southern California is one of the best places for beautiful light and landscapes year round. Sabrina and I flew out to LA back in November '19 with some great friends to attend our old band managers wedding in Camarillo. After the wedding, we drove up to Santa Barbara wine country for some tasting and shooting.

I just can't say enough good things about Jim. He is truly one of the most talented people in the business - our wedding photos are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen. He was very responsive and helpful throughout the time leading up to the wedding, and once the day came, he was able to direct our wedding party and family members without being too in your face. Jim went absolutely over and beyond for Bryce and I from start to finish of wedding planning. Jim and his significant other (Sabrina Simpson) even turned into our wedding planner when we needed someone to step up.
He had so many ideas and visions in his mind that were everything we wanting plus more. Jim is someone you can trust. He will give you timeless photos that will last a lifetime. He makes himself available for you always. AND he gets his photos back fast ladies! This is HUGE! We might have waited 2-3 weeks for photos.

Jim went above and beyond on our wedding day, traveling multiple hours to shoot the day's entire schedule and even staying later than expected to continue capturing special moments. He made a great effort to get to know us beforehand to get a feel for the memories we wanted to capture, and was extremely professional day of working with us and our friends and family. Jim is the BEST! If you’re like us and feel awkward getting your photos taken, Jim is your guy. From the beginning, he made us feel comfortable and gave us tips not only on location but also outfits that might pair best for our engagement shoot. He listened to what we were looking for and made sure our location and the vibe captured it perfectly. He also got our photos back super quick!

We booked Jim for our engagement photos last year, and we loved him so much we HAD to have him on our wedding day! My husband and I loved Jim right from the start; he's laid back but really professional. Jim's attention to detail and incredible talent are evident in all of his work. We used Jim for our wedding and engagement pictures and could not have chosen a better photographer. When we got our engagement pictures back, we knew we had made a great choice. He has an amazing eye and captures so many unique shots that most people dont even think about. You can truly see the emotions of the subjects in the pictures. My bridesmaids and I were running pretty late on the wedding day and he easily rolled with it and adjusted his schedule to make sure he got all the shots we wanted. We just got our wedding pictures back and I am absolutely in love. I cant stop looking through them
