Welcome to Spire Climbing + Fitness, Bozeman's premier indoor rock climbing facility! We have something for everyone, from first-time climbers and families, to groups, to serious rock climbers. Open since 2004, Spire offers more than 12,000 square feet of roped climbing to heights of 50 ft, and over 6,000 square feet of bouldering.
If you already know how to enjoy a climbing gym, we simply need to certify you for use of our ropes! First get checked off for Autobelay, then show your skills in toprope belay, and finally get tested to lead climb and belay! Many people come to Spire by themselves to boulder and traverse. With these types of climbing, you don't need a rope- you're never more than a few feet off the ground.
If bringing minors (under 18) please make sure to bring a waiver for the child. Doing the waiver online allows for you to get climbing right away, and can be filled out on a computer, tablet, or smartphone! If we do not have a valid waiver on file, the individual cannot climb. No exceptions! We hate turning away excited climbers, so please ensure that we have or can get a valid waiver!
Safety While Climbing at Spire - At Spire, our number-one priority is a safe environment for our customers and staff. To help foster this, we offer free top-rope lessons to all patrons of the gym, any time we are open. In addition, all climbers using the ropes must either take a lesson, or go through a top-rope/lead climbing/Autobelay assessment process.

I’m relatively new to climbing and I was very intimidated joining a gym by myself. However, all the staff here have been incredibly helpful and compassionate while I’ve been learning the ropes (pun intended). The atmosphere at Spire is inclusive and very social, and people are open to helping you out.

By far the most toxic and unwelcoming environment in a climbing gym in the ENTIRE United States. The staff are unbelievably rude and judgemental. The only reason this gets more than 1 star is because the climbing is pretty good. I don't recommend going here unless if its dumping rain or snow. The GM is a nice guy but every one else there cultivates an unwelcoming culture of toxicity.

I went to Spire a few days ago with zero climbing experience and the staff was helpful and kind when explaining how to use the equipment! The gal helping us made us feel comfortable asking any and all questions when figuring out what to do with the harness and equipment.Using the auto-belays was amazing because you could climb on your own and still feel safe!
The facility was impressive and clean. Absolutely check this place out if you’re looking for a fun way to exercise and challenge yourself!

Rock climbing can be an intimidating sport, but Spire creates an inclusive and community-oriented space for everyone. Whether you've been climbing since before gyms were a thing—or you've been wanting to try it out for the first time—Spire is a great place to see your strengths in action and build community. In addition, the yoga and fitness classes, as well as personal training with Coach Phil makes Spire one-of-a-kind. This is an amazing community to be a part of.
