Whitney is a wedding and portrait photographer based in Santa Ynez Valley. She has a BFA in photography from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She photographs weddings up and down the Central Coast from San Luis Obispo to Santa Barbara. I love telling a story with my camera, capturing the most special moments in people's lives. It's a true honor and I could not dream up a better job. We hired Whitney to photograph our wedding 5(!) years ago and again recently for our first family photo session with our daughter. We are not people who love to be in front of the camera and Whitney somehow captures us looking comfortable and with genuine smiles. She is talented, patient, and such a joy to work with. I am so grateful for her ability to document the most joyous times of our lives. I can't imagine working with anyone else.

I am not fond of getting my picture taken. When my fiance (now wife) and I were choosing photographers for our wedding, I dreaded the day when we would have to hug trees and stare into each other’s eyes. I love my wife’s eyes, don’t get me wrong, I would stare into them all day long. The thought of posing and being directed in order to generate chemistry for the camera just seemed fake and I didn’t want to do it.
Luckily, my wife’s tireless research led us to Whitney Turner. When she showed me her body of work I was, of course impressed. The pictures were professional and it was clear

Working with Whitney was the best! My husband and I do not like taking photos and she made us feel super comfortable. She took a ton of great candids of us, our family, friends, and guests. I’ve had friends who paid a lot more and told us how jealous they were of how Whitney really paid attention to taking photos of what WE wanted. The photo quality was stunning and she recommends a great printer so that the prints you order turn out as good as you’d hope. The turnaround was fast as well. Hire her! You won’t regret it!
