Hina's represents our group of family owned independent pharmacies located in Bakersfield, California. We opened our first pharmacy in 1996, at Mercy South West Hospital, in Bakersfield, followed by opening our second location at River walk Medical Plaza across from California State University Bakersfield.

We prepare medications specially flavored for your animal, whether they are canine, feline or bird. Even if your pet refuses to take his/her medication orally, we can provide a wide range of medications that may be applied topically to the skin. As a long-term care pharmacy (LTCP), we provide medications and consultant pharmacy services to long-term care facilities such as nursing homes. As a LTCP, we provide continuous access to a pharmacist as well as offer emergency delivery of medication. Our main focus is to ensure that patients have access to their medication therapies in a timely manner.
When it comes to disease prevention, immunizations are key. Getting vaccinated protects you and those around you. Our main focus is to help you and your loved ones stay up-to-date on the recommended vaccines. We offer a variety of immunizations. Our highly qualified staff can easily administer these immunizations here at the pharmacy.

We made our appointment several weeks ago for a time sensitive follow up with the pharmacist that happened to be due on Labor Day. We asked several times to make sure that they were open on that day and the person at the front desk assured us that they were open. We altered our Labor Day plans for the whole family just so we could make this appointment. Appointment time comes up and turns out they are closed till tomorrow. There was no courtesy call, email, text, or communication of any kind in the last several weeks to inform us that they would be closed for the appointment they had

I spoke directly with the pharmacist, and explain to him that I wasn’t a customer of theirs but I needed help in finding a particular medication. Although they didn’t have the medication I needed he was extremely helpful in directing me to other pharmacies that may be able to accommodate me. I extremely appreciate his professionalism and his kindness. If I needed to find a new pharmacy I would definitely become a new customer In spite of the fact I they are not located in my area. They would be worth the extra distance!

This place gets a zero on Data Security and HIPAA. Their cashiers loudly ask you for your birthdate with no option to either key it in or write it down. They then repeat it (several times in my case) very loudly so that everyone waiting (because you will wait a very long time here) hears it as well. This is after they ask for your full name and the name of all the drugs you are picking up. I have had them ask me for the last four of my SS# in the same manner. Obviously they don't care about ID Theft. After I complained, the two very unprofessional girls up front proceeded to whisper and make

This is under my sons name as I made a gmail with his name because I forgot mine. But this is Jordyn, I used Walgreens mostly for years but switched to Hinas last year for myself & my son. My brother also switched after me referring him. I LOVE this pharmacy. You can take a prescription in & it will be filled within 20 minutes tops generally, usually 10-15 minutes even if you have more than 1. I have taken 3-4 & been done within 20 minutes. We've been going here for a few years now. The staff has always gone out of their way to make sure evrything was right for us. Even when they were out of stock, they called and had another location bring it and then deliver it to my house. The staff is nice and the pharmacists work with us to make sure my kids will actually take the yucky medicine they need! These guys care. I find it a bit odd that the bad reviews come from people who don't live in town........

Worst, mean-hearted people in town. CVS has better customer service. Owner told me she's a for profit place and that they have costs that they pass on even though my insurance company says I have no copay. Then while I was trying to work it out with the insurance company, she decided that she wasn't going to run it through my insurance and that if I wanted my meds I would need to pay the full cash price and that her offer to run it through insurance was gone. This isn't the swap meet or a yard sale, it's a pharmacy, they were negotiating without a care in for me or my health

Excellent customer service and fast service. Only once was a medication I needed not in fully so had to go back to get remaining amounts. It is important to me because I have many severe illnesses and disorders so always have to have my medication with me. They have actually been the best pharmacy and I give the magnets with their information on them that they have to many people who have trouble finding affordable pharmacies. Would definitely reccomend to anyone that has trouble finding affordable medication that they have to have on hand.

As a busy surgeon practicing in Bakersfield for the last 16 years, I have seen tens of thousands of patients. Whenever my patients ask, I always recommend Hina's Pharmacy. My family fills our own prescriptions there every chance we get. They're courteous, fast, and have fair prices/complete insurance participation.
