Furnished Living is designed specifically for older adults to help them live comfortably and safely. Our Independence Bed (patented), and Illuminating Night Table incorporate elegant components that make it easier to get in and out of bed and safer to make night-time trips to the bathroom. The Supply Cabinet provides enough space to discreetly store - and secure - bathroom necessities as well as cleaning supplies.
Like many family members, I regularly visited and helped him at his assisted living residence. While it was a lovely residence, much of the furniture in his room was uncomfortable and institutional. I often saw him struggle to get out of his chair! His inability to get up by himself reinforced a sense of loss and separation in me.
Jennie Bucove founded Furnished Living in 2011 after seeing the poorly designed furnishings in the residence where her father had moved. Cold and institutional looking, the furnishings did little to enhance her father's independence or to make his apartment feel like home.
In addition to her role in helping older adults and people with dementia maintain independence, Jennie has more than 20 years of consulting, strategy, M&A and general management experience in the media, financial services and education sectors.
