I recommend Montgomery Karate to anyone that is interested in learning a martial art. They are not just teaching kicks and punches, they teach the history of Soo Bahk, respect of adults and peers and concentration.
My son has ADHD and the instructors are firm with him but also very patient.

I've been training here for two years and I've absolutely loved it. They scale the training regimen effectively for kids, adults, and everyone in between. There's a week free trial too so you might as well try it out!

My son has been attending Montgomery Karate since February 2017 and he absolutely LOVES it! Soo Bahk Do helps him stay focused and maintain his ADHD. I have definitely seen a change in his behavior since starting Soo Bahk Do at Montgomery Karate. The friendships he has made will be everlasting. He has grown in self-confidence, self-worth, discipline, respect and just as a young man in general.
I, myself, started training in April 2018 and it was one of the best decisions I could have made. Montgomery Karate is a wonderful family environment. My only regret is not signing up sooner!

We first started coming to Montgomery Karate just in hopes of helping our 6 year old son hoping to improve his confidence and increasing his muscle tone.
Little did we know that this place would become like family to us! Master Quinn and Jo Kyo Underwood are hands down the best ever! They have not only done what we were hoping to find, but have given us so much more. Our son has gained respect and a drive for his new found passion.
Kathleen is always a step ahead of us and keeping us clearly updated on what we need to know.

Montgomery Karate - So Bahk Do is a unique art that integrates Humility, Courage, Honestly and other values into the art. This art is full of history and tradition. The instructors are wonderful lead by Master Instrutor Travis Guinn. It’s the perfect balance of intensity with positive affirmations. You will work hard but also leave with the confidence that your improving and your hard work is noticed. We have been attending this studio for about 7 years shortly after it opened. My son is a soon to be 2nd degree black belt and my other is a red belt. If your interested in Karate and live in the

When I moved to Austin after living in Michigan, I learned that there were no Soo Bahk Do studios in the Austin area.  I contacted studios in the Houston and San Antonio areas.  Guinn Sa Bom Nim responded to my e-mail and offered an alternate training schedule.  His instruction, flexibility, encouragement, support, and patience are one of the many reasons I chose him as my instructor. I have trained with Guinn Sa Bom Nim since November 2007.  He has been a positive influence in my life.  I would not be the Soo Bahk Do practitioner I am today without Guinn Sa Bom Nim.

My autistic son, finally found a place where he feels welcomed, encouraged, and strong. The coaches and other members at Montgomery karate have made him feel like he belongs. I am so thankful for the hard work and dedication the coaches give to these kiddos.

This is by far the best studio in the area! The instructors are all amazing!! I enrolled my son almost 5 years ago and it was the best decisions I've made. He'll be testing for second degree black belt in a few months.
I train here now as well and can't say enough great things about the studio owner, Travis Guinn. You won't find a better Martial Arts Instructor!!
I recommend this place to people of all ages!!

I can not say enough good about this school! From the instructors to the front staff, everyone is helpful and very encouraging. This is not just for the young...it not only trains the body but the mind and puts a whole new spin on self confidence! Just what you learn as a white belt can save your life!!!

Our two oldest sons had previously been involved involved in another style of martial arts when they were young and since moving to the Lake Conroe area we searched for some time for another studio. At a time when there is a focus on cage fights, Mixed Martial Arts and related styles, we were looking for a studio that didn't just teach an art but discipline as well as a value system. As soon as my oldest son and I met Sa Bom Nim Guinn, I knew that we had found the right place. During the past 5 years, our older sons have progressed to the Dan ranks (black belt) and their younger brother

A lot of times when you live in a neighborhood you don't get to pick your local Karate studio and there typically aren't a lot of choices, but in this case, you don't need em!

Montgomery Karate is a wonderful establishment! My son wanted to start taking Karate this last summer and the staff at Montgomery Karate made it so easy!

My son absolutely loves his instructor Zach Mckay who makes the learning time both fun and informative.

Montgomery Karate teaches Soo Bahk Do ("the art of hand striking") and it was founded by Grandmaster Hwang Kee, The Korean martial art is
