Since 1979, Forever Young has created a learning environment that is non-violent and gender-neutral which respects the diversity of all ethnic and cultural viewpoints. Forever Young uses the teachings and methods of many early childhood development experts; however, our basic philosophy can be summarized as respect for each individual child and his or her developmental level.
Forever Young is a nonprofit Co-op child care center with an all-parent Board of Directors, which offers an all-inclusive infant & toddler program. Meals, diapers, and wipes are all included in your child's tuition. In addition, Forever Young provides natural, vegetarian foods with little or no added salt, sugar, preservatives, artificial additives or colorings.

Magda Gerber called the person who performs this role an "edu-carer." Her philosophy of Resources for Infant "Edu-carers" (RIE) is the basis upon which Forever Young was built 30 years ago. Using RIE principles, Forever Young seeks to create a balance between adult stimulation and independent exploration in a safe environment.
Our staff emphasizes activities that foster the physical, social, and emotional, cognitive, and creative development of the child in the inside and outside play areas. Forever Young's policy is to allow children to work out conflicts or frustrations with their peers without immediate adult intervention.
With 21 years of experience with children, Selina is the Executive Director of Forever Young. It's hard to say what I love most about Forever Young because there are so many things. But if I had to, I would say loving the kids; we get to bond with our babies and watch them grow. I couldn't imagine working anywhere else.
Forever Young provides an environment for exploration, play and discovery giving the children the opportunity to choose activities that interest them. Our staff emphasizes activities that foster the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and creative development of the child. The outside environment has a large secure play yard with grass, sand, and a tricycle path for the children to explore and enjoy during the day.
Each staff member is required to have fingerprint clearances through the California Department of Justice and have current First Aid and CPR certificates. Forever Young actively recruits staff with at least 12 early childhood education units and encourages staff to continue their education. In some cases, Forever Young underwrites the cost of courses, conferences, seminars, and books for our staff.

Our daughter went to Forever Young from 4 months until about 2 years. She loved it there. The staff-to-child ratios are small and the attention is individualized. They feed the children when they are hungry vs at specific times. Loved all the people who work there. You are lucky if you can snag a spot here.

We are so happy we found Forever Young Daycare. Trying to find childcare during a pandemic was a joke. We got a referral that this place had an opening and enrolled our 14 month old. It is so warm and friendly , I feel great about leaving my daughter there all day. The staff is relaxed and loving. My daughter really loves it there. She has built a special bond with Carl, her favorite, and sometimes when I pick her up she doesn't want to leave! They include diapers and food with the tution really what more can you ask for!

I can’t say enough great things about Forever Young. I wanted to cry everyday for the first month I had to send my baby to daycare. The only reason I didn’t was because of the smile on my son’s face when he got there. All of the teachers became second mama’s to him. They deeply care about these babies like their own. They are wildly experienced caregivers. They make fresh organic vegetarian food daily INCLUDED in tuition. There is not a day that my son is not learning and being stimulated. During this horrible pandemic we held him out for a month at the very beginning, and he kind of stalled

Both of my children have attended Forever Young, and the most important thing I can say about FY is that the staff and leadership are just absolutely incredible. They truly love my babies and keep them safe, not just while they're at the infant center, but continue to adore and check in on their "alumni" as they grow up. It is so hard to leave your child with anyone, especially starting at such a young age and for so much of the day, but I see how well my kids get along with FY teachers and how much the FY teachers love my kids - they are absolutely the best available infant care in Sacramento

The kind and knowledgeable staff at Forever Young have been a blessing for us, it truly feels like dropping off our daughter with trusted family members in the morning. Beyond meeting her daily needs, the experienced forever young staff have her future development in mind. With diapers and food included, we couldn't be happier here. We would highly recommend to any other parents.

At 5 months we had to send our first baby to daycare. Before he was born I had researched every daycare in the city and based on reviews and word of mouth, I knew that Forever Young was our best choice. I am so glad we landed here, because it has been our lifeline! My baby is now a 15 month old bruiser and everyday when he gets to daycare he runs into the room yelling, "Bye!" without looking back. Daycare is is his favorite place with the most caring and stimulating teachers. He learns and develops so quickly when he's surrounded by this environment. As essential workers, our son

My husband and I heard about this daycare through a friend who had wished that had gotten on the waitlist early enough to send their little one, and we could not be happier. Our now-almost-two year old started here when he was only 3 months old, and we have been nothing but incredibly happy with the staff. He loves going to school every day and we feel safe and happy dropping him off, knowing he will be loved and well cared for. We have been impressed with how seriously the school has taken COVID and they have come up with protocols for drop-off to keep our kids safe. We just wish our son could

We have been attending Forever Young for about 6 months now and absolutely love it!! Earlier this year, we were new to Sacramento and needed care for our 16 month old. We called and toured dozens of daycare's only to find they either did not accept children of this age or they did not have availability. After meeting with Selina we were sold! We loved the small family-like feel that Forever Young provided and also the fact that they are an infant center and only accept children under the age of two. These days our daughter simply runs inside and does not hesitate to say goodbye to us at drop

Updating my previous review from a few years ago, now that my second child is here. This place is still the same amazing, loving, nurturing, and stimulating environment it always was. The staff is everything.
They are also open currently -- it's such a small facility that they never had to shut down during the pandemic. COVID precautions are in full effect!

My first child was here from six to 18 months, and we transferred him to a new school that he will be at until he is ready for kinder. Our newest edition is here now and will be here until 18mos as well. Love the teachers, they love the kids, there is no turnover, and mostly everybody has been on staff for many many many years. That tells you something right there! It is a co-op so you need to be prepared to chip in in whatever way you can, and they operate on a shoe-string budget, but they do great things with what they have. We took our daughter to forever young from the time she was 6 months old until 2 years. The teachers are both caring and thoughtful. My son spent nearly two fantastic years at Forever Young. It really is a special place - the staff care deeply about each child and form strong bonds with them. My son thrived there and still talks about the staff and has playdates with his former classmates. It is a smaller facility - max capacity 20 children - so it's large enough to be professionally organized and run with licensed and accredited staff, but small enough for highly personalized learning and engagement. They've been in operation for over 35 years and staff turnover is low, with multiple staff having been there for over a decade

Our daughter has been attending Forever Young for about three months and we have had a very positive experience. Because it is a very small child care center, we know all of the staff by name and they all know our daughter. They truly love our daughter and take great care of her, which gives me peace of mind when I drop her off every day. Forever Young is a nonprofit, not a business, and parents are actively involved in operation. The director, Selina, has been at FY for decades and most of the staff have been there for a considerable time as well. Because of this and given its size, FY really

The staff here cares and it shows. Our child attends full time and has flourished under their care. He's a very happy, well socialized child, and is healthy and hitting all his growth milestones. It speaks volumes that I pick him up every day and have never once walked in to him crying. I think he likes them more than he likes me!

When choosing a daycare for your little one, you have so many things to worry about and consider: The staff, the location, the cost, the fit. We were on 5 or 6 waitlists and ended up choosing FY based on feedback from a fellow mom friend of mine whose son has attended and had really loved FY. It wasn't the fanciest of the daycare centers that I toured but it had the best and most caring and knowledgeable staff. Some of which have been at FY since the mid 80s! Their director is amazing and has been there over 25 years.

I've been part of the Forever Young family since January 2014. My second child at FY just turned 2 and will now be leaving and I am heartbroken. The staff is phenomenal. They are all so caring and wonderful and truly love the children.
The daycare is vegetarian and they make the food daily which is great. Steffie, the chef, is very creative with the menu and finds ways to introduce different foods to the children without them realizing they are eating healthy. At home, my son will not eat anything green but at FY I don't think there is a food he won't eat.

I loathe writing reviews but I will for Forever Young, which is truly a godsend for me and my family. I have been a Forever Young parent since 2014, when my toddler first attended. She is at another preschool now but my 6-month old attends Forever Young and loves it. They both did. The staff is wonderful and devoted to their kids. Both my babies were rocked to sleep -- given their lower-than-most child ratios, they are able to provide this type of one-to-one attention. One of the hardest things new parents have to do is to leave their child in someone else's care... it was definitely hard

We love Forever Young and so does our son. The staff here is excellent. We really appreciate how much time they spend interacting with him, make making crafts, reading, singing and encouraging cooperative play with the other kids. Every day we get a report card on his naps, when, what and how much he ate and when he went to the bathroom.
It's hard going back to work and giving your child to someone else to spend so much time with but we are glad we found Forever Young.

Forever Young has been such a wonderful experience for our little family. I was so hesitant to have to put my baby girl into daycare to return to work, but once we found Forever Young, my worries were put to rest. The staff truly, truly love the children and treat them as if each child was their own. My daughter was taught manners, patience, songs, to count and even the abc's! I wish we could stay here "forever" but my little girl just turned two and must move on. I highly recommend Forever Young to any family that is looking for a more home-like environment full of nurturing staff

Disclaimer: My child was never enrolled in Forever Young; we never made it that far. I set up an appointment for a tour on their website. Having received an email confirmation that the tour was set, I showed up at the selected date and time. Upon arrival I was greeted by a man that said the Center was closed and holding their Annual Meeting. When I told him I had received an email confirming my appointment, he ducked inside to check with someone and returned to tell me that what I had received was an automated confirmation. That was all. End of story. I wasn't sure what to say to that. I mean

This is an update from my family from a previous review. My son is now 13 1/2 months old and all three of us are still very happy with Forever Young's caring and competant staff. Our Toddler is learning how to feed himself and interact with the other children on the 'big kids side' and they are helping him transition well. He is still happy to be dropped off in the morning and is in good spirits at the end of a long day.
I am starting to get nervous having to find a new place once he is too old for FY. I wish he could stay with them until he goes to preschool! We are so lucky to

Our son has been attending this day care since he was 3 months old and we're all very happy about it! The staff is really nice, very knowledgeable (some of the members have been there for more than 20 years!) and respectful of your wishes regarding your child's meal, nap routine and so forth. Also, food and diapers are provided which is not always the case. Parents are welcome to stop by anytime during the day (lunch time to nurse for example).

Our daughter has been attending the FY Infant Center since she was 4 months old and we are so happy to have found such a wonderful day care. As first time parents, visiting day care after day care, the process can be so daunting. You think, how can we possibly leave her with strangers all day? But, that quickly changed when we toured Forever Young. We had visited many day care facilities in the downtown area, but none of them could compare to the great staff at Forever Young. Sure, when you first walk through the door you don't see all the new, "shiny bells and whistles" like you do at the giant

This is Forever Young's Infant Center for kids who are 6 weeks through 2 years. Our third baby is about to start here and our experience with our other two kids has been tremendous. The Downtown location and big, shady play-yard are great, but - as with the preschool - the real story here is the staff. They are amazing, with endless patience. Many have been in child care for over 20 years and have a kind, common-sense strategy for everything these little ones can throw at them. They really love our kids, and our kids love them too.
Most importantly, our children are always happy here

I feel so lucky to have found Forever Young for my kids. My husband and I both work full-time, and when I was faced with finding childcare when our son was born, I was terrified. After visiting lots of daycare centers where the children seemed miserable, I visited Forever Young. I knew right away that I could take our son to FY and feel comfortable doing so because the children were content there. That was 3 and half years ago (October 2005), and we now have two children attending Forever Young, a toddler and a preschooler. Because of the care they receive at FY, my children are growing into
