All Physical Therapists have been vaccinated and we will continue to mandate masks, hand washing and respect physical distancing. When you are ready, allow us to help you feel better. We'll identify the source of your symptoms and together we'll build a plan to get you back out there. Even a trained eye can't see everything, so we capture your running on video and analyze your style.
Just like you take care of your teeth, learn how to take care of your muscles, bones and joints. The name "Positive Energy" is appropriate-you feel it as soon as you walk in the door. Recovering from a revision knee surgery I was in a lot of pain and apprehensive about any therapy due to past experiences.

Services
Just like you, we are athletes but we have trained to be Physical Therapists. The combination shapes how we feel about our clients and how we deliver care. We've created a hybrid model of physical therapy, biomechanical assessment, performance enhancement training and preventative conditioning in an environment suitable for all activity levels.
With a hands-on approach we will identify the source of your symptoms, then develop a highly customized rehabilitative program aimed at helping you feel your best. We will work alongside you every step of the way until you've reached your peak potential. A walking or running gait cycle is a predictable series of movements of the legs that provides forward propulsion.
When in the dog park, Carol suddenly felt as if she was "slipping in mud, where there was none." Thanks to "the efficiency, expertise, and stress-reducing" of all of Carol's guardian angels, she is on her journey back to wholeness. I wish there was a way for me to get the word out on how great I think your organization is.
We give you more time. Each appointment you will be scheduled for 45 minutes without overlapping in to another client's time. The 45-minute window we give to help you is not the norm but the exception. Other physical therapists may give 1/3 to 1/2 the time we can. If your symptoms are the result of repetitive microtrauma we search for the source because if we reduce what caused the problem, you will get better faster.
Walking and running are a predictable series of movements that provides forward propulsion. Many of us will never give thought to how we move forward until we hurt and are unable to propel forward. Intended for the caring athlete or client with the stubborn problem, our gait analysis will find where your pattern is off and get you back moving your best.

I've been to dozens of highly regarded physical therapists, and after many years of theraputic experiences at Positive Energy, I can say for certain that there's no one I trust more with my total body restoration than Dr. Matt Varca.
I'm a challenging patient with many complex issues and Matt has always been ready to face my problems head-on, when other therapists have grown frustrated. His bedside manner is A+ and his therapeutic knowledge is cutting edge.
If you get hurt (hopefully you don't) or even if your your chronic aches and pains are keeping you from living your best life or performing

Positive Energy is hands down the best physical therapy I have ever been too. As a former collegiate athlete and avid runner, I was really struggling with a knee injury that just wouldn't get better and I really was close to giving up hope. Working with Jay at PE, I saw progress within a couple weeks of going. Not only is my knee completely better and so much stronger after 2 months of consistent work, but I have also gained so much confidence with exercises I never used to do because I didn't know how to do them with proper form. I owe it all to him and can't thank him and the entire PE team enough

I was lucky enough to work with Hilary on my knee issues when running. She was great! Very supportive and patient with all my questions, and was always responsive if I needed anything offline. She always brought a bright and positive attitude even during a tough year.
I even got some help from Sean once who was also very knowledgeable. Brandi at the front desk was great with helping organize my sessions as well. Thanks to the entire team!

I was very impressed from the start. From Brandi, the receptionist, who was so helpful, welcoming, and encouraging, to Hilary who knew just what exercises would help my achilles tendonitis heal. Hilary was willing to switch to Zoom therapy sessions when Covid 19 restrictions came into place.I sincerely appreciated that. There was a misunderstanding about how much my insurance covered and Sean agreed to let me finish out my sessions despite the insurance snafu. I would highly recommend this place!

I was referred to Matt at Positive Energy after my bilateral hip replacement surgery. I had completed the insurance company's PT, which really wasn't sufficient to get me back to my yoga practice feeling strong in my newly expanded range of motion. Matt was SUPER knowledgeable and is one of the kindest human beings I've ever met. He immediately made me feel confident and strong with my new hips. He educated me as well as giving me excellent exercises to use in my home rehab. I can not over-express my gratitude for Matt and his skills as a PT. If I'm ever injured or recovering from surgery again

After 8 months of no answers and no improvement I was skeptical that physical therapy would work but oh my goodness this place has changed my life. Hilary is incredible and I can't even begin to say thank you for how much she's helped me. Everyone there is super friendly and the energy (haha) really is incredible! 10/10 would recommend this place for anyone looking for physical therapy

I was skeptical when starting therapy with Sean because of all the negative experiences I’ve had with therapists in the past. How things change when you pick the right therapist. Sean has superior subject knowledge; he helped me understand every aspect of my hip and foot exercises and the healing processes involved in restoring my body to optimal health: I walked out a new woman! Did I mention what a nice guy he his and a whole lot of fun? Thumbs way up!

After being diagnosed with grade 4 chondromalacia of my Left knee and painful crunching and caving in almost to a fall, I told Sean I wanted to get back on my dirt path and run. He very nicely said, "Really?" I have run for almost 50 years such that it became my joy. To not run I felt lost. We worked hard for almost 4 months building my body to tip, squish, and squeeze. My hips became the most important. Thanks to Sean I am back on my path, the asphalt along the beach, and on the grass. My joy is overflowing and I need to keep doing the training part to keep running. So much gratitude to Sean and

Positive Energy is the perfect name for the professionalism, dedication, care and enthusiasm that each team member gives to their patient during PT. They truly care about the person and not just the process of getting you back to “normal”. In February 2019 I had a partial knee replacement, which typically has a two-year progressive recovery cycle. Even though I was a long-time runner and performed tons of leg work outs in preparation for the knee replacement – my overall leg strength, flexibility and balance were deeply impacted by the surgery (far more than I expected).

How do you describe the brilliance of the Owner Sean Ryan and staff at Positive Energy?! Raising 4 children who all participated in sports from a very young age and all unfortunately suffered injuries at one point or another, our family has been around the block with all types of doctors, physical therapists and chiropractors to bring our kids back to health and allow them enjoy their sport once again. What truly amazes us about Sean and staff is the OVER the top dedication and personal thrill they seem to have in FULLY understanding the clients injury and methodically putting that particular part
