Over 15 years ago, I made the decision to start my own business, leaving behind my love of social work, in exchange for the opportunity to help others in a much different arena.

We are a la maid, a small family-owned Connecticut cleaning company that also happens to be in the business of bettering lives! We are a company of people helping people and truly care about each and every one of our customers. We love cleaning in Clinton, Connecticut! Although A la Maid's office administrator Barbara Lanza was reluctant to relay the real words of wisdom she routinely advises her cleaning crews, they do speak volumes about her passion for customer service. This ensures that I see the big picture. Those are the things that set us apart.
Hanging on Polly "the cleaner's" office wall is a poster from the popular children's show Bob the Builder. A testament to tenacity, each episode Bob and his team famously exclaim Can we fix it? Yes we can! Three years ago when Polly started cleaning in Norwich, Connecticut, she decided they needed a mantra of their own.
A la Maid is available for all levels of cleaning from annual or bi-annual deep cleanings to move-ins and move-outs, turn-key services, as well as recurring cleaning services ranging from weekly to monthly. We are willing to work with you to customize a plan that will suit your needs. Think of this as a spring cleaning you can schedule anytime!
Moving is stressful as it is, so let us do the leg work to get your home move-in ready whether you're buying or selling! All surfaces of the home will be thoroughly cleaned and inspected including: inside and outside cabinets and closets, shelving, floors, fans, fixtures, windows and walls, baseboards and blinds.

This business is unable to hire any quality employees. Their “maids” stole from my parents house twice! Do not let them into your home! The first time they denied it could be their fault that jewelry was missing from our home. Once police investigated it was proven it was their employee and charges were pressed. They then promised a trusted employee would be the only one cleaning our home. They lied and items were taken a second time. DO Not hire them!!!!

I have been using A La Maid for well over a year. I have yet to have the same crew twice, although the crew chief repeats. How can a crew clean a house they are not familiar with? Their arrival time is a 2-hour window, so I can make no plans for anything. When they leave, I have about two hours of cleaning what they left out from the work order they bring with them. Toilet brushes are dry (thus unused), there are dust rings on the furniture, streaks on glass, dirt left on floors, etc. etc. And for this, they get top dollar. When I called to complain, I was told that I was too "negative

A La Maid helped my girlfriend and I for the holidays. When we have our 5 young kids together, life can get messy. So when it was time to invite our family and friends over, a la maid was our choice.
First off, they were on time. That's a big one. When you're trying to plan your day, it's nice to know that your day will go to plan when you aren't waiting for an appointment. I started A La Maid because, based on their name and motto, I hoped to be able to tailor the services to my needs. I even had them clean my office. Unfortunately, my expectations didn't match their ability to deliver. The one thing that was most important to me was consistency. To keep this short, that's not what I got. Arrival time & same crew were critical to me, and if that matters to you, it's just not possible. The staff turnover, or other issues, seemed to interfere most of the time.
