Valkyrie BJJ Academy is dedicated to teaching effective self-defense techniques to people at all experience levels. We train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which focuses on taking down an attacker and/or defending yourself after being taken down to the ground. Many attacks end up with one or both people on the ground.
If you are ever in this situation, it will be critical for you to defend yourself against punches, kicks, and other attacks. BJJ is designed for people of any size. Additionally, jiu-jitsu uses leverage and timing to overcome strength and speed, allowing a smaller person to defend themselves against a larger attacker.

Services
We teach a variety of skills in our kids class, including self-defense, standing up to bullies, setting goals, and working hard, all while having fun! We practice real life self-defense situations with partners in class. Such situations include taking down attackers and controlling them, all the while learning to do it with resistance from our partners.

I've known and trained under Dustin for almost 4 years. I can promise you that you wont find an instructor and academy as quality as this one. What stands out is how Dustin treats you like family and has your best interests in mind. I've made lifelong friends at the academy while learning the art of jiu jitsu. My training has been limited the past year due to health reasons and Dustin and the members at the academy have been there for me. They never once pressured me to train during these times, yet they always have a spot for me when I'm feeling good and make it feel as if I never missed a day

Wounderful place to train. Great group of people. New students get 1 week free, so you can test drive before you buy lol. They do sportty jui jitsu and very self defense focused, which what is their primary. I train there and have used some of the basics to keep mynself safe and a client. Give it a shot. I did about 4 years ago and love it now.

A great school, the coach has a very welcoming and friendly attitude that carries over to his students. They focuses a lot on the fundamentals and the pure self defense side of the sport, although there are higher color belts there who are almost always willing to let people work on more complicated moves.
All in all it comes together to for very non-intimidating and instructive school.

Dustin is by far one of the best instructors in the game. His style of teaching is very detail oriented. Very good with the kids class also!

Growing up, I was never one to partake in a martial art, but having kids of my own now I have gained an appreciation for the value a martial art can add to an individual (self-esteem, self-confidence, etc). My 5 year old son is enrolled in the kids class and after failed attempts to get him involved in swimming, and other sports like soccer, it was BJJ that he has taken a shine to. Every week we excitedly talk about the days he will have BJJ class, and the instructors do a phenomenal job catering to the developmental abilities of each child.

I HIGHLY recommend Valkyrie BJJ Academy!!! It is a Very Professional and Fun Atmosphere! The Coaches are Amazing at what they do, no matter if you are just a beginner or an upper belt.
