It has only been two months for me and I have already lost 15lbs! If you're like me, and you need the cardio but hate the treadmill, then Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are the best substitute. You will make new friends, be a part of a community, learn new tools and lose the weight.

Silanoe Martial Arts is established by Professor Gino Silanoe and is located in San Gabriel, CA. We seek to provide the absolute best Martial Arts experience for you and your family. Martial Arts will teach an individual to be humble, respectful, and above all, to never give up. There is an escape for every lock or hold, and every possible situation can be faced, dealt with and overcome.
Professor Gino Silanoe has been practicing martial arts for about 25 years. He is originally from The Netherlands. His father enrolled him in martial arts at the age of 8. Growing up practicing martial arts helped Professor Gino to build his confidence. Martial arts helped deal with occasionally being bullied in school.
Silanoe Martial Arts offers Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or in short BJJ. It has proven to be the most effective Martial Art. Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art focusing on grips and leverage to overcome a physically stronger opponent. It's a sophisticated fighting art commonly referred to as human chess. In Jiu-Jitsu competition, both athletes start standing and usually at one point continue their match on the ground.
At Silanoe Martial Arts we firmly believe in the importance of a good foundation. Jiu-Jitsu is the most effective martial art where power and strength are less important than technique and leverage. Because of that, one can truly overcome a stronger opponent. This makes Jiu-Jitsu extremely suitable for self-defense.

The place is ok, but lack of safety regulation.
the coach let people partner randomly each other in a muay thai class, there are so many people in the class and a beginer might partner with a more experienced player, so the beginner is very easy to get injured, I don't recommend this place if you are a beginner for muay thai, the class is crowded and lack of regulation, one can easily get injured.

Started with no experience, little over half a year into training now and honestly the best investment I’ve made for my health & wellness.
First off, the Covid protocols from day 1 have been enforced from the strictest guidelines (training outside in the parking lot, mandatory temperature checks, hand sanitizing, and mask on at all times) to current guidelines. Most of the students here are fully vaccinated and STILL wear mask as advised.
Second, the cleanliness of the academy is grade A. Mats are swept and sanitized daily. Bathrooms cleaned daily. Floors and chairs cleaned daily. Also proper

I've been taking classes at Silanoe for about 3-4 months now, mostly jiu jitsu but also a handful of muay thai classes here and there. As a beginner, woman, and out of shape thanks to a year+ of quarantine, starting martial arts can be really scary and intimidating. I checked out a couple bjj gyms in the area but ultimately chose Silanoe because of the welcoming and supportive environment Professor Gino fosters.
You can tell they take safety and cleanliness super seriously. Mats are cleaned and disinfected multiple times a day. The instructor is always walking around making sure everyone is performing

I started going to Silanoe Martial Arts since February 2021. I was looking for a new academy which follows the LA County Covid19 safety guidelines to keep their business open.
I had found Silanoe Martial Arts having all of their classes ( from kids to adult Bjj, no gi bjj, Muay Thai) held outside under a tent. Everyone would be wearing a mask for the whole class. They would take your temperature and spray hand sanitizer before every class and clean after every class They gave you an option of drilling with a live partner or a grappling dummy. Being in the medical field and working in a hospital

Just started jiujitsu a few weeks ago. I was a bit hesitant to join. I've never done any type of martial arts and felt intimidated coming in with no prior experience.
Professor Gino is very professional and takes the time to help out each of his students. I would definitely recommend this place if you're considering trying out jiujitsu.

I started BJJ and Muay Thai with Silanoe Martial Arts because I had an interest in the two forms of self defense and was convinced by the positive in-depth online reviews of the facility. I also needed the exercise because I was gaining weight from having an office job and hate going to the gym.
There are three instructor’s at the facility. They are Professor Gino(owner of the facility and instructor of BJJ Gi and no Gi classes), Coach Chris(instructor of BJJ Gi class), and Coach Luis(BJJ no Gi and instructor Muay Thai). I’ve been training BJJ Gi & Muay Thai for about 3 months now, and I have

There are many martial arts gyms around LA, and I could not be happier to have chosen Silanoe Martial Arts. Since I joined 6 months ago as a complete beginner in BJJ and Muay Thai, I’ve only ever felt welcomed and supported by the owners of the studio, Professor Gino and Anna, and the family of students at Silanoe. Professor Gino is an incredible instructor and is committed to each student achieving their own personal goals, whether that looks like getting in shape, learning self-defense, or winning competitions.

Currently, I have been training for over 10 years of Jiu Jitsu now. After training different Martial Arts, I have found Jiu Jitsu to be one of the most fun and effective arts of all. I was training at a different Jiu Jitsu academy when a friend recommended me to Professor Gino Silanoe. I am glad that I decided to tryout. and currently train under him. His curriculum is outstanding and it resulted in me reaching multiple podium medals! I learn everyday. Professor Gino is passionate about all Martial Arts may it be Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai or other forms of Self Defense. It is great to see kids at the

Silanoe martial arts is awesome! It's clean and very friendly. No attitudes or egos here. Everyone is really respectful and welcoming! Professor Gino is very knowledgeable and accommodating of all skill levels. I haven't been doing Jiu Jitsu for long but they offer a great fundamentals class for beginners. The Muay Thai is also a great workout while teaching you proper technique. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone whether you're new to martial arts or a seasoned veteran! They have classes for kids too!
