Services
Eastport Health Care aspires to meet a full spectrum of health needs in rural Maine with innovative, affordable treatment. Leading through listening, learning through partnership, and serving through collaboration make us agents of change for better health outcomes in Washington County. Proper healthcare has been an integral part of the lives of our nation's people.
EHC was founded in 1978, through the efforts of Dr. James Bates, who, along with Rowland French, were the city's two practicing physicians. They foresaw the need to attract younger doctors to the area and were aware of the doctor and dentist placement program sponsored by the National Health Service Corps, which is a part of the US Public Health Service.
Appointments are preferred. Please call during regular hours. Every effort is made to see you at the time of your appointment, but patients with special or urgent problems must take precedence. Walk-in patients will be seen when free time allows, or after those with appointments have been seen. All patients must report to the receptionist upon arrival for each visit to assure you will be seen as scheduled.
I'm very pleased to serve as Eastport Health Care's Chief Executive Officer. My career is in the community health center world and I'm committed to the inclusive and comprehensive model that provides access to a menu of basic health care services. I'm impressed with the EHC team of engaged employees who want to provide excellent care to patients and who are open and communicative about our work together.

I am new to the area and did a lot of research before selecting a health care clinic. Eastport Clinic has a good reputation in the community and Dr Churchill came highly recommended by some nurses NOT part of their practice. Now that I have been to the clinic all the staff I have encountered are great and Dr. Churchill is the best MD I have had the privilege I have had the pleasure of being a patient of. She even called me about an hour after my visit to follow up on a portion of our conversation!

I had set up an appontment to get a tooth removed at the dental clinic. The call for the appointment was made on a Friday afternoon and was for the following Monday morning. On that very same Friday I had a previous call in the morning asking for a tooth extraction, but was told that extractions cannot be done on Fridays as the Doctor would not be available. Thus the appointment for Monday. Arriving on time on said Monday I learned that the doctor had no time for an extraction. I had only managed my severe pain by daily taking 2000mg of pain killer pills. I also had to drive one hour one way to
