Dr. Alano specializes in the gentle, non- twisting, low force and highly effective NUCCA (National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association) Procedure. Since 1992, Dr. Alano has utilized his background in chiropractic pediatrics and orthopedics to treat patients of all ages, from all over New England.
If you are like most of our new patients, you have been referred to our office by a friend, family member, your physician or physical therapist. As with any doctor's visit, you'll start by completing some new patient forms. Our office is fully computerized so our knowledgable staff will sit with you to aid you in the process to keep it as stress free as possible.
How does it work? Chiropractic is based on the idea of removing imbalances both structural and postural in an effort to allow our body to heal itself. For this to happen the network of nerves and signals from your brain, down your spinal cord, to the network of nerves, must be allowed to flow freely without any interruption.
Dr. Alano has being utilizing the gentile and precise NUCCA procedure for over 25 years. Coastal Chiropractic Group is the oldest NUCCA practice in RI and one of the oldest in New England with patients regularly traveling for the procedure from as far as Philadelphia, Connecticut, across Massachusetts and Martha's Vineyard.

I was referred to Dr. Alano while suffering from indescribable pain from Trigeminal Neuralgia. I was having several attacks a day that brought me to my knees. He took x-rays and found that the problem was stemming from a significant misalignment of my neck. He treated me using a very gentle upper cervical spine adjustment method called Nucca. I had tremendous relief after my first visit and was pain-free within just a few days. To say I’m grateful is an understatement.

I have been receiving treatment from Dr. Alano for a neck injury and post-concussion syndrome due to a motor vehicle accident. Dr. Alano’s treatment for my upper cervical misalignment has been the single most important step toward my recovery.
