Our staff at the Allergy & Asthma Center at Ear, Nose and Throats Specialists of Wisconsin is here to help you with all of your allergy and asthma needs. I am fluent in Spanish and have completed several medical missions to the underserved regions of Ecuador.
Prick skin testing and intradermal skin testing are relatively fast methods of identifying if you/your child are allergic and what you are allergic to. The results of these types of testing are available within 15 to 20 minutes after the tests are applied. A minority of patients may require both prick skin testing and intradermal testing.
Immunotherapy (commonly called allergy shots) is a form of treatment to reduce how sensitive a person is to specific allergens. Immunotherapy consists of a series of injections (shots) with a solution containing the allergens that cause your symptoms. Treatment usually begins with a weak solution given once or twice a week.
