Oh My God
I have not had this good of food in a long time!
Growing up 30 miles north of the Mexican border, I got really spoiled with the delicious homemade food at my friends house.
But let me tell you it was like stepping back in time!
My mom had the Loaded Nachos.
I had the Shredded Beef TACOS 🌮 😋!

I came in for lunch about a month ago and my smothered chicharrone burrito was one of the best I’ve had! Full of flavor and the workers were extremely friendly! Definitely one of the best places around

Wonderful service, conversation, and of course excellent tacos with shredded beef nachos! The shredded beef was layered perfectly with alternate layers of beef, cheese, and chips! The tacos had an excellent helping of shredded beef and a first where the shells stayed intact and not soggy! Loved the presentation too on the tacos!

Food was great. I only wish that the salsa was thicker.
Everything tasted very good and the staff was wonderful.

We stumbled upon this family owned restaurant and were highly impressed! Everything was delicious and flavorful. We had chile relleno plate and carne asada and birria tacos and they all were equally delicious! I’m so glad we found this authentic Mexican restaurant in Rio Rancho. We definitely will be returning. My pics don’t do this amazing food justice.

My wife found this diamond in the rough of a restaurant in Rio Rancho, and believe me when I say that. I ordered the posole on a rainy day and it was delicious. So far the best I've had here in NM. My wife & daughter had the crispy taco plate and even that was good. No burnt tortilla shells here like other places. Beans & rice were authentic home made. So Gracias El Agave we definitely will be back to try the rest.

First time eating here and the food was amazing. I had the Birria tacos and my boyfriend had some rellenos and chicken tacos. The birria was perfect and not too greasy. The salsa they bring when you first sit down is so good. Lots of flavor and pretty spicy. It comes with flour tortilla chips as well which is nice a fluffy. Will be coming back.

Very tasty food, and great,attentive staff. We will definitely be returning to sample more of the variety of choices on the menu. We liked the taste of the salsa and fresh chips. We also thought the green chili had a great flavor while not being overly spicy, allowing us to really taste it all. Lots of choices, something for almost anyone.

Spacious, clean and friendly place to dine with family and friends. Mexican style food brought to you by Judy and Jose owners. We will definitely be coming back!

This family owned Mexican restaurant is in Rio Rancho,NM, located in a corner of a strip mall. The chips with salsa are made right there. Chips were right out of the oven and the salsa was so tasty. I had a stuffed Sopaipilla breakfast. Inside was eggs, bacon, beans, potatoes. Served with homemade potatoes and cheese sprinkled over it all. I had the red Chile with it. My son ordered the Thursday special which was a huge cheeseburger with all the trimmings. His side salad was very large with lots of condiments. Everything was very flavorful. Well worth visiting and enjoying a great meal.
