CHARIS provides individual, marriage and family therapy services with adults, adolescents and children in the northeast Michigan area. The word CHARIS (pronounced "care us") is Greek for grace. Grace is undeserved support or acts of kindness.

After supporting individuals, couples, and families in the northeast Michigan area in various professional capacities for over 10 years, I opened Charis Counseling Services in 2015 to provide an opportunity for clients who wanted to integrate their Christian faith into their mental health counseling treatment.
Charis is committed to providing mental health services in accordance with all local, state, federal, and organizational laws, statutes, and ethical guidelines. Charis is committed to addressing the development of our clients-physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual.
We are also quick to refer those issues that are primarily pastoral in nature to a church pastor or pastoral counselor and those that are primarily physical in nature to a physician.Charis is committed to ensuring that all clients are afforded the right to a therapist with whom they have no other ongoing relationship, and who is competent to treat their issues.

Found my therapist for PTSD through here. She is great and hs improved my life a lot. However she switched to a different company when I first was seeing her. I was not surprised by her decision after I got a letter from Charis counseling a while later saying that an employee had sent out collection letters that were not approved. I did not get one but I paid every copay for Charis, and continued with my therapist at the other company. Months later, a letter with confidential information was sent to the person who abused me, saying that I did not pay my copayments. I do not talk to this person
