The answer to the first question is "love." While attending an economics class at the University of Colorado in Boulder, I noticed a beautiful fellow student named Kelley whom I thought was noticing me too, though I later found out that this was not the case. One day we happened to be walking out of class together.
The Hale Kike leadership team combines decades of experience and education, along with compassion and kindness to provide the highest level of care for its residents, and an excellent work environment for its team members. Get to know our leaders below. In addition, Hale Kike employs some of the most talented and dedicated staff in Hawaii.
Hale Kike's first location in Nuuanu has been operating with great success since 2005, providing the standard for memory care in Hawaii. Located in a quiet cul-de-sac, our single-level building features a lush central courtyard, wide walking paths, and raised garden beds. The freedom to go outdoors and interact with nature is an important part of life and health.
Thank you for your interest in employment at Hale Kike. I founded the company in 2005 with the goal to help improve the quality of care for those with dementia in Hawaii. Over the past 15 years through the incredible work of the professional and talented staff, Hale Ku'ike has become the foremost leader in dementia care in Hawaii and the nation.
Every design element at Hale Kike has a purpose. Best practices in design philosophies from Scandinavia and around the world have been researched, tested and incorporated to create an environment that is healthy, calming and supportive. Antiques and old photographs evoke a feeling of familiarity. Lighting has been optimized for older eyes.

I absolutely love Hale Ku'ike it is a lovely and wonderful place, their service is amazing they took great care of one of my family members and they enjoyed their time there. Also, their dog pepper and cookie are well trained and cute. They keep the place clean and sanitary. And their DON at Nuuanu is so caring about her patients, and so polite, I absolutely love her attitude. 100% recommend this place!!!

Since my review got removed here it is again since I didn't have a first hand experience.
I first went to the Kaneohe location and interviewed Mr. Fitzgerald for my Music as Therapy class. We had the same teacher at KCC and I didn't know until I had reached out to Mr. Fitzgerald. I had just moved to Nuuanu and the HNL location is behind our house. Besides having a pleasant interview with Mr Fitzgerald at the Kaneohe location, I am not sure how that location compares to the HNL one.
As a neighbor of this location I find Halekuike very inconserdate regarding being a good neighbor. My late

My mom moved into Hale Ku'ike last year and she's positively flourished under the compassionate care of the highly-trained staff. All of the staff are trained in Teepa Snow's "Positive Approach to Care" style. They really get to know each of the guests individually.

She now uses a walker and is walking more than she did while at home. Plus, she's engaged in activities throughout the whole day. She tells me "the food is really good" and "the people here are so nice".

I took the best care of my mom while I could but she needed 24/7 help and it was

I used to work but quit. I wasn't happy with the pay or scheduling but it was a great place to be a part of for 8 months. They treat their residents like each one is special, not just another body to take care of. That is something I really loved. The owners are incredible to both staff and residents a like... if they only payed a little better I never would have left.
