Diane was born and raised on Long Island. She started her career as a dental assistant in 1990 and has been dedicated to oral health ever since. Diane has over 20 years of experience in assisting, dental insurance, and making your care affordable. From the first contact, she will make sure you are taken care of and that you are happy and healthy.
Our goal is always to help our patients maintain their oral health and to care for and protect their natural teeth. Maintaining oral health includes good home care and regular visits to our office for preventive care, which includes oral examinations and cleanings. Comprehensive examinations of the mouth, teeth, surrounding gum tissues, and supporting bone structures help with early detection and treatment of problematic conditions.
At the Smile Shack, we are serious about preventive dentistry. Preventive medicine has become more important for prevention of disease and lowering your cost of healthcare. Extractions, fillings, and performing root canal therapy may be necessary but more frequent trips to us will lower the chance of that happening.
Our office specializes in cosmetic dentistry. This means that we not only pay attention to the health and function of your teeth, but we also pay close attention to aesthetics. Dr. Shack and the entire team at the Smile Shack are amazing. Everyone is always friendly, and they are good at explaining everything in a way I could understand. The cleanings and exams are always thorough. They also worked with my insurance so that I was able to afford to get Invisalign. Highly recommend!

Always a pleasure to go to Dr Shack’s office. The office manager is such a pleasure and she is so knowledgeable when it comes to my insurance. The hygienist is so thorough and gentle. Plus she gave me amazing brushing tips!! And of course, Dr Shack… I am very phobic and she makes me feel so comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend this dental practice!

Dr. Shack is truly amazing! I seriously cannot say enough positive things about my experience at the Smile Shack. An accident at home left me with a broken front tooth, and she could not have been kinder or gentler as she walked me through the exam and replacement process. I suffer from terrible “white coat” anxiety, especially dentists, and she patiently explained each step along the way, as well as making sure I didn’t feel a thing as she worked. Everyone in the office from Diane at the front desk and on, have been nothing but warm and welcoming every time. Would highly recommend for any

I'm extremely afraid of the dentist due to many poor experiences. All of the staff was amazing and patient, as well as always smiling. Very comforting environment. It was my first cleaning in years and also the most pleasant! Highly recommend this office. Will be returning for more work and I'm confident it'll be great.

As always my experience with Dr. Shack is as pleasant as a dental visit can be. She is so patient with my nervousness. And her office is run so well by her office manager, Diane, that there is never an issue. I find it easier to take the "news", good or bad, from her because she is so knowledgeable, patient and encouraging.

I have been going to Smile Shack for several years. The office is clean and welcoming. Diane from front desk always has a great smile and very helpful with insurance. I never have to wait long to see Dr. Shack or hygienist. The hygienist always gave me thorough cleaning. I did some major dental works, including tooth implant and complex root canal. My experience with tooth implant was so smooth and trouble free, from being recommended to the right periodontist to crown work by Dr. Shack, that I still have a hard time believing it. A great dental office overall.
