Mailman's Carpet Cleaning
Mailman's Carpet Cleaning was founded by Tom Mailman in 1970 and was the first steam carpet cleaning company in New England! Our first steam machine was a portable one. Demand grew rapidly for this very effective technology, so Mailman's invested in a truck-mounted HydraMaster machine as well. The results were so much better than old techniques that had included brushes and harsh cleansers.

At first, Tom did all the cleaning jobs and mom Helen running the office. Word got out. We grew. So we invested in a second truck, a portable upholstery-cleaning machine and expanded our service area to include everywhere from Worcester, MA to Keene, NH. Tom Mailman retired in 2012. Matthew, Tom's son, who had worked alongside his dad since the late 80's, acquired the business.

I had a 9:00-10:00a.m appointment. I removed all the furniture from the rooms to be cleaned and at 9:05a.m I got the “the new van broke down” we will maybe show up later phone call. They said they couldn’t call earlier because the office personnel doesn’t start work until 9:00. I decided to drive out to the address listed on their website and wouldn’t you know it, it’s a house. Don’t waste your time with Mailman’s, get a professional company to clean your carpets!

The van broke down and they had to reschedule. The day of the 2nd appointment, they called 15 minutes after they were due to be here, they called to reschedule AGAIN because of the van still being in the shop. I inquired why we weren’t notified earlier, so we could have avoided hours of moving furniture off the carpet and they said they were sorry, they should have.
