With much love in our heavy hearts, we want you to know that Manifesta Salon has permanently closed. Many months of closure under pandemic health orders in the past year came back to back with a setback from our relocation in 2019. Unfortunately, the financial stress of this double whammy stretched us beyond our capacity to sustain operations.
In light of these circumstances, deep consideration was given to the decision to close. There is a life cycle to every business, and it is clear that, after 7 amazing years, now is Manifesta's time to end. Although this is a sad moment, we are so proud of what we were able to do with our little business, and we owe it all to each and every one of you.

Services
We consider ourselves members of your life team, providing not only award-winning top quality hair care services, but also a great place to be. Sitting in a salon chair is a relationship experience. Our hairdressers are skilled artists and simply good people who love to connect with our clients and contribute to our local community.
Please note that we require 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. A 50% fee is required for appointments cancelled or changed with less than 48 hours, as it represents a significant loss of income to the salon and the individual stylist. The 50% fee will be waived only if a short-notice cancellation is due to an onset of illness.
Aveda enacts these goals through use of natural, plant-based ingredients, sourced via good relationships with communities throughout the world that produce these materials ethically and responsibly. The Aveda factory is based in the U.S. and powered by wind, solar, and water, with zero emissions. They use recycled materials for packaging.

***Update*** Sadly Manifesta closed. KC is now in another field (accounting!), the rest of the Manifesta folx are now at Elixir Salon in Rockridge. Sad to loose this great salon.***

I get my haircut by Monica. She listens to what I want and gives me feedback. Monica does such an amazing job with my hair. I am happy to go there and support a local business.
I am good with the price because I feel the service and result are worth it.
I've been going for over a year. Their previous location at old Oakland was so convenient luckily they didn't move too far. I just visited their newer Jack London location. It is smaller but still quaint, lovely chairs, natural aesthetic, and always so clean! Monica is awesome and this salon is great!

K.C. is hands down the best stylist I have ever had and creates such an enjoyable experience. Not only do you get a warm greeting from the other amazing stylists but a complimentary neck and shoulder rub as well. An awesome local business that really gives back and creates a very safe and welcoming environment for all to enjoy! I would definitely recommend and I have and now several of my friends are regulars. Go Manifesta!

I followed Julia Corlett from a great hair salon in Berkeley. Julia had been my stylist for approximately five years. Since the first time I came to Manifesta, I have been made to feel comfortable in a homey and friendly atmosphere. I am always made to feel welcome , and of course, get my hair colored, styled and cut by Julia. Every stylist and the receptionist look at the salon as their home away from home. They are always eager to help.

Manifest is fabulous! Everyone there is so friendly, they go out of their way to provide great customer service on the phone and in person, and my haircut experience with Heather was wonderful! It's so relaxing to get a scalp massage first and Heather cut my hair exactly how I wanted it - something I actually haven't found in years. Thank you Heather and Manifesta! I'll be back soon:)

I. Love. Manifesta. This is a delightful, conscientious, and lovely salon filled with kind people. Amy has been my stylist for four years and I don't know what I would do without her. She is one of the most creative, attuned, generous, and responsive people out there and I am so grateful to receive her wonderful services. I always love my haircuts and am eager to return.
