Assault and battery is a combination of two different crimes: assault, which is a threat of violence or attempted violence; and battery, which is the actual act of physical violence and contact. Some jurisdictions make distinctions between the two and classify them as separate offenses.

However, in many cases, assault and battery is filed as one charge against the defendant, especially where the threat of violence is immediately followed by an act of violence. If you are charged or accused of this type of crime, it is important you contact an experienced Savannah, GA assault and battery lawyer ASAP.
In Georgia, the defendant is entitled to a bond hearing within 72 hours of arrest. If no bond is set or it is set too high, the defendant can petition for another bond hearing. This is oftentimes done to not only attempt to get the client out of jail, but also to gain a better understanding of the case before arraignment.

I was so was so stressed about the outcome for my situation. From the moment I contacted Jarrett he was ON IT! When I would text with silly questions due to my anxiety he kept me calm but was very realistic about my situation. We showed up to court, he was VERY PROFESSIONAL, I didn’t feel alone and he read every piece of paper to me explaining things thoroughly. He was confident, which made me confident!

Moving to a new area and getting a charge of a DUI was the scariest thing that could have every happened to me. Especially when I have never been in trouble before. Looking at reviews are everything. That is how I found Jarrett who took on my case. He as very professional and explained the in's and outs of the whole process. Upon my situation he worked hard to get the case taken care of as quickly as I needed it to be over. I felt confident and good about my situation. He was able to get it amended down to reckless driving and no probation upon completing the classes. I would 100% recommend using

I hired Mr. Maillet for a six ticket traffic stop… two of which were DUI convictions. Astronomical like one DUI isn’t enough right…? Well Jarrett understood the timely manner to lift the warrant that Bryan county placed with out notifying me. He worked pretty quickly with getting things turned around. I’d say his communication is a little absentee sometimes then again who’s isn’t when you have to talk all the time for work. He got all of my tickets dropped down to one wreckless driving. Including the 106 mph in Georgia! That being said enough for his abilities in the court room! So

Professional as can be. I was very worried do to the fact that I hadn’t ever been to court, didn’t know the ins and outs of where to start, but Mr. Jarret made it clear cut that I didn’t have to worry and walked me through every step I needed to take to feel comfortable about my situation and where it was headed. As the court date came up, I was reminded constantly of the time and place to arrive, as I did. He came in very professional and clean cut and walked me out of that court room with simple court fees and reduced charge to reckless driving. 100 percent would recommend to a friend if

Mr. Maillet is exactly as advertised. I got a DUI in Jan 2021. I have never been in trouble before, and I was extremely nervous about the entire situation and had no idea what to expect. I am also in a position that a DUI could take away a major portion of my livelihood so that even heightened my nervousness.
He was able to get my DUI reduced to a reckless driving and my probation suspended upon completion of:
DUI Risk Reduction Class (Fro-Sun, 20 hours, $360)
MADD Victim Impact Panel (1.5 hours, $60)
Clinical Evaluation (1.5 hours, $125)
My fines were reduced to a total of 1164.00 after court
