I bought a mini orchid with a pot from this store. The worker who helped repot the plant and checked me out seemed clumsy and careless. She broke the first pot she was drilling a drainage hole into, which was fine by me because I just grabbed another one. Then, she attempted to take off a price tag on a string that was wrapped around the stem of the flowers, but since she was struggling, I told her that she could leave it, as I was afraid she would break off the flowers. Lastly, when she was placing the orchid in a bag, she actually did break off one of the flowers, and she subsequently quickly

Beno himself takes small business shopping to a whole new level. I have never known someone who cares as deeply as he does about the whole customer experience. As you approach the open door you know that you are in for something special as seasonal plants and decorations spill out onto the sidewalk. You may be greeted by the neighborhood's favorite pair of dogs who enjoy the attention that is lavished upon them.

I came in looking for a snake plant but had no clue what I was really looking for. One of the workers, Margo, stopped in the middle of what she was doing to help me! She drilled holes in the bottom of the pots I wanted, planted both plants for me, and gave me great advice! Such amazing customer service, I will be coming back here for all of my plant needs. Beno's has the absolute BEST customer service. My dad gifted my wife a monthly flower delivery and it's been the best gift she's gotten. I am a generally terrible gift shopper...which is a big reason why I love and appreciate Beno's Flowers SO much! No matter what time of year it is so we'll done and easy to pop in and find something nice for anyone to mark an occasion or just because. Beno and his staff (including the super cute pupper) are always helpful and their passion for their craft shows! Flower arrangements have also been excellent and seem to last longer than flowers I've gotten elsewhere as well. One extra cool thing I saw was a liquor infusion kit which my wife loves and we can't wait to enjoy

Benos has become my go-to gift shop! They have so many cute house plants, ceramics to put them in, cards, and trinkets. If you purchase a plant and pot for it, they'll pot it for you for free which is so nice and thoughtful! Their floral arrangements are also BEAUTIFUL! This was my first one from them but won't be my last. Everything here is very reasonably priced as well. The store owner is there pretty often and is always very friendly and welcoming. Beno's is a great addition to the Downtown Iowa City Scene :)

Popped in for a free bouquet as a Yelp Elite perk and immediately fell in love. This little nook is packed to the brim with everything you need to construct a beautiful gift for any occasion. Stationery, trinkets, decor, and of course flowers and plants! Everything was so healthy and I spent entirely too long trying to decide which little guy to take home. Beno even repotted my plant into the cute little pot I'd chosen as well! I'll have to venture out this way more often to indulge my new plant hoarding habit. Added bonus: he had a DOG in the shop, y'all!!

It took me an embarrassingly long time to visit Beno's (I'll blame pandemic shutdowns), but it was well worth the wait. The shop is adorable and full of grabbable, giftable items, from botanical puzzles and Rifle Paper Co. prints to fancy chocolates and of course the flowers of your dreams. I picked up my free Yelp bouquet and was blown away by the overall look of the arrangement -- it was stunning! I love the bouquet bar and can definitely see myself returning to assemble a bouquet, maybe to gift but maybe just to brighten my own day! The prices are very much reflected in the quality

Right before quarantine I attended a Lady's Night event the owner had on the Vue Rooftop. He was so funny and nice that I really wanted to support his local business. Today, I finally had an opportunity to stop in. The shop is cute and practical. The gal behind the counter was completely adorable. I will definitely be coming back in for plants and home decor. I love the plants here! They're so nice and reasonably priced! Beno is the owner of the store and he's such a nice person! So patient and willing to answer any questions you have! I've been in Beno's Flowers & Gifts a few times now and I always leave so impressed. Benito goes above and beyond. He is so hospitable, professional and wildly creative.
While his arrangements are colorful, unique and modern-- with quality flowers. The store is so much more. There are succulents, air plants and plants, sure. But the carefully chosen party decor and accessories are awesome. Not to mention the eclectic, fun gifts. I have gone in looking for one thing and walked out with multiple others.

What a great addition to downtown! Beno's Flowers and Gifts is a wonderful compliment to the existing gift and plant stores downtown (Willow and Stock on the Northside and Moss on Washington Street). The store is a great size and has unique flower arrangements, accessories, and small gifts.
