In the fall of 1998, the Detroit People Mover was damaged from the implosion of the old Hudson's building. Rubble from the collapsing 439 ft tall building crushed pieces of the People Mover guide-way and rails. In order to put the Detroit People Mover back into commission as soon as possible, Turner Construction was hired to replace the guideways and rail.
In 2009 Advanced Geomatics took part in work on the Ambassador Bridge that connects U.S. and Canada. The Detroit International Bridge Company (DIBC) had decided that the optimal alternative is to replace the deck, stringers and related metalwork in the main span (U.S. tower to Canadian tower) as opposed to continuing with repairs to these components.
Advanced Geomatics is currently seeking an experienced full-time survey technician/survey crew chief to work primarily out of our Novi office. Work will require some in state travel. Candidates should be proficient with survey equipment (includes: robotics & GPS) use and care. Crew chief is required to be aware of surveying standards, oversee the health and safety of others, and work under the direction of a professional surveyor.
