Individual Treatment: At our office, you're more than a number - you're part of our dental family! We create personalized, individual treatment plans for each child so that we deliver the best results!. At Bellaire Pediatric Dentistry, it is our goal to ensure and maintain your child's oral health. To do so, it is important to honor your child's scheduled appointments. Reserved appointment times are held specifically to accommodate your child's needs. Late arrivals and broken or missed appointments interfere with our goal of ensuring your child's oral health and may compromise your child's care as well as the care of other children in need.
Your treatment plan will include a breakdown of all applicable fees, and we will inform you of all costs before treatment is administered. Payment is expected at the time treatment is rendered, unless special arrangements have been made prior to your appointment. We accept all major credit cards. Financing options are available through CareCredit.
At each visit with our hygiene team, children have the opportunity to join Bellaire Pediatric Dentistry's No Cavity Club. Children receiving a professional examination who are cavity free are given the opportunity to enter their name into a monthly drawing for a special reward. Annually, one lucky member's name is drawn from all names entered for the year to receive a special grand prize and recognition reception.
Throughout your life, your child will have two sets of teeth: 20 primary (baby) teeth and 32 secondary (permanent) teeth. On average, the primary teeth appear around 6-9 months of age, and all 20 should be present by age 3. Permanent teeth will begin to grow around age 6, and with the exception of wisdom teeth, should all present at age 12.

The best dentist for kids! The staff is amazing from the front desk support, to the hygienist, to the dentist. They make it very easy for any child to get comfortable with being at the dentist. It's not just movies playing everywhere and rushing you in & our. They care and that's the most you could ask for.

I met with Dr. Joel Vela and he was super friendly and patient and good with kids. The Hispanic nurse, Connie, however, was always scowling and she was kind of rough with my kids. I am afraid to leave my kids in her care, she looked permanently pissed and not good with kids at all. Rough, impatient and unsmiling. Enough to make me stay away from this doctor. I'm sorry this doctor has to lose a $4k worth of jobs because of this one staff.

Dr. Joel and his staff are wonderful with my children. All of our questions and concerns are always completely addressed. The office location is very easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. Dr. Joel and his staff are like family to us. I would highly recommend that you give them a try for your children's dental needs. I only wish they treated adults! They are wonderful!
