The principle foundation of my studio is to develop truly effective fighting and self-defense skills based on Instinct, Concept Application, Muscle Memory, Adaptation, Improvisation, and Situational Awareness. Not by memorizing forms and competing for trophies. Martial Arts training at Kaizen is non-traditional, practical, effective, and above all, safe.
I've designed my curriculum to be age and skill appropriate, challenging, rewarding, and of course. CQC (Close Quarters Combat) is a tactical concept which involves a physical confrontation between several combatants within a short range from one another. KAIZEN literally means "Continuous Improvement".

Services
It's not only the method of training I offer that's unique, it's the overall ambience, design, feeling, and functionally of the studio that makes attending classes here an experience for not only the students, but also our parents and families.
Along with massive space (13 ft ceilings and over 1,800 sq ft of training space alone), our training studio has soft foam-rubber flooring, full size mirrors, wave masters, heavy bags, speed bags, cage balls, ninja training courses, throwing and tumbling mats, kick shields, blockers, training mitts, and more!

Students are recommended to attend at least two classes per week, however they may attend as many as four, plus our bi-weekly open gym. There are never any additional costs for attending extra training sessions. Students must be on time for class, be clean, and wear proper training attire. If a student is sick, I ask they restrict themselves from training until they are no longer contagious.
So. let me back up a second. While I hate name dropping, I began training at the age of 12 in various styles like Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, Jujitsu, Judo, Boxing, Muay Thai, Escrima, Silat, Kali Sikaran, PSNA, Reactive Knife, yada yada yada. in my opinion. In my late teens, I earned the rare and great opportunity to begin training under men who would forever reshape the course of my martial life.
Kaizen is a martial arts studio unlike any other. This is a bold statement, but I have held a bold ambition throughout my life to offer the very best martial arts training I can provide, and to offer it within a studio as unique and beautiful as the methods of martial arts training I offer. My Kaizen Galleries offer you a glimpse into our studio, youth and adult classes, and the special events or services I offer here at Kaizen.
I highly recommend you spend a day at "Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue"! Your visit helps provide food, medicine, enrichment, and quality of life for their resident Tigers, Lions, and Leopards. I hope you have found what you are looking for in quality martial arts training for yourself, or someone in your family.

I cannot say enough great things about Kaizen Karate! I had asked friends for recommendations for karate and every single person recommended Kaizen. After our first day, I could see why. It’s my son’s first time doing karate and it not only is teaching him focus and skills, but the environment is so fun and perfect!

If you are an adult who has always wanted to get into fighting but has felt awkward or unsure of where to begin, look no further. Nathan provides a learning experience that feels fun and easy and won't make you feel foolish. Also the gym itself is worth visiting as he has created a temple of serenity filled with life and art. Cool place, cool people.

This a great place to train! Nathan, the owner, provides a one-of-a-kind environment for learning self defense that is practical in real situations. Classes are fun, motivating, and reflect positively on other aspects of life. Nathan caters each session according to the people that come and how quickly they learn. I highly recommend this business to anybody of any skill level who is interested in martial arts, self defense, and/or fighting.

Cannot say enough great things about Nathan and his studio. Started taking both our 8 and 6 year old about 3 months ago and couldn’t be happier. This is a non-traditional studio which is part of the appeal; no pressure to perform or hurry through belts. Also, he incorporates life lessons and skills into every lesson. Our son has some learning disabilities and Nathan’s class and teaching have given him self-confidence as well as the structure he needed. He has these great family fun nights, too! Super affordable. Best thing for me is that he has workout equipment and the parents can work out

By far the best place in the area.. The instructor is super nice, cares A LOT about his clients, and is super instructive on how to do everything and will break it down for you if needed so there’s no confusion. I’d definitely recommend in a heartbeat to anyone who even thinks about joining this place and starting training!
