Truth be told, Gary Anderson never dreamed of a career in the landscape industry. In fact, back in the late 1980s when the Gary Anderson Landscaping story begins, he was pretty content working his job at a local wholesale drug company. But with a family to support, he and a friend frequently took on a few landscaping gigs on the side to earn a few extra bucks.
After working their "regular" jobs each day, they'd race outside and chase the remaining daylight installing landscapes, then knock on doors looking for more work. Weekends too. They hardly fit the image of seasoned landscapers: Two guys piling a handful of rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows into a pair of Chevy Chevettes.
